We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager to lead preconstruction services for complex, high-profile capital projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This on-site role is responsible for guiding projects from initial concept through bidding, ensuring a seamless transition to the construction management team for execution. The Senior Project Manager will oversee all aspects of preconstruction, including the development and management of project budgets and schedules, coordination and leadership of the design process, and engagement with key stakeholders. Responsibilities include driving design development, managing permitting efforts, leading the bidding process, and facilitating contractor procurement and contract execution.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in preconstruction leadership, with the ability to align design, cost, and schedule objectives while maintaining strong communication across owners, designers, and consultants. Minimum Qualifications for Senior Project Manager:
• 7+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry (pre-construction preferred)
• Institutional/Higher Ed experience preferred
• CSU experience is a plus but not required
• Experience working for a general contractor on construction projects is a plus
• Understanding of Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical systems is a plus
• Able to handle multiple projects concurrently (+/-5 projects) ranging in value from $1mil to $15mil.
• Excellent planning & logistical skills
• Excellent stakeholder management & customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Initial project setup
• Perform conceptual estimating, detailed cost estimating, budget tracking, and cashflow forecasting, ensuring
• projects align with financial targets.
• Oversee design development, conduct constructability reviews, and lead value engineering sessions to
• optimize cost without compromising design intent.
• Oversee permitting of projects by ensuring all stakeholder and consultant concerns are addressed.
• Develop and update preconstruction schedules and ensure stakeholder buy off
• Analyze risks in regards to schedule delays and budgeting
• Coordination of design with stakeholders
