Job Summary

The Project Manager - Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and successful delivery of DAS and wireless infrastructure projects. This role oversees all aspects of assigned projects, including design coordination, installation, commissioning, budget management, scheduling, customer relations, safety, quality control, and financial performance. The Project Manager ensures all contracted work is completed in accordance with company standards, customer requirements, industry best practices, and applicable codes while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing DAS, in-building wireless, small cell, public safety DAS (ERCES), and related telecommunications infrastructure projects in commercial, healthcare, data center, education, hospitality, or large venue environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead all phases of DAS projects from project kickoff through closeout, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Manage multiple DAS projects simultaneously, including active antenna systems, passive DAS, public safety DAS (ERCES), small cell, and wireless infrastructure deployments.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate project personnel in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Effectively manage workforce planning, workload distribution, subcontractor activity, and resource allocation to support project schedules.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of installation, testing, commissioning, optimization, and closeout activities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, material expenditures, and overall project profitability.
  • Review project financials, including job cost reporting, purchase orders, change orders, billing, collections, and revenue recognition.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, RF engineering, equipment vendors, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee procurement and material management activities, ensuring equipment and materials are delivered on schedule.
  • Manage all customer communications and serve as the primary point of contact for project-related activities.
  • Facilitate project meetings, provide status updates, and deliver progress reports to customers and company leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, customer requirements, and OSHA standards.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control procedures throughout project execution.
  • Review project documentation, including site surveys, RF designs, construction drawings, as-builts, testing reports, and closeout packages.
  • Support the sales and preconstruction teams in project estimation, proposal development, customer presentations, and bid activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage project change requests and ensure proper documentation and customer approvals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in DAS, wireless infrastructure, telecommunications, low-voltage, or related construction environments.
  • Experience managing Public Safety DAS (ERCES), Cellular DAS, Small Cell, or In-Building Wireless projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of DAS components, RF systems, fiber optic infrastructure, structured cabling, and wireless communication technologies.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, RF designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to visit active construction sites and telecommunications facilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access equipment rooms, rooftops, and other project locations as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in construction environments for extended periods.
  • The Project Manager must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
  • Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
  • Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
  • Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Must have the ability to learn Company and customer project management systems. The Security Systems Foreman must also have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain a Company sponsored American Express Card.
  • Must be able to use the following trade Tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5-gang punch tool.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
  • Prefer a minimum of five (5) years' experience of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • The General Superintendent must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
  • The General Superintendent must also have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
  • Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
  • The General Superintendent Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
  • Must be able to use the following trade Tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5-gang punch tool.
