Position Description: The Global HR PMO (Project Management Office) Director plays playing a key role in helping drive the Global HR agenda through the portfolio of programs and vendor contracts across the function. They drive excellence in project management practices, processes and tools to support the on time and on budget delivery of our project portfolios across the Global HR function. They provide functional expertise and leadership in project management and execution while establishing and maintaining standards for project and portfolio governance. They lead the vendor management function for Global HR, establishing annual priorities and ensuring proper governance. The PMO Director works with a diverse group of internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization, both inside and outside of HR.
The prefered location for this role is Toronto, OR Montreal Canada
The successful candidate will require a strategic mindset to drive results. They will also need tactical know how to plan, prioritize, identify interdependencies and collaborate, leading and developing a team of project managers, bringing about change through influencing stakeholders.
Your future duties and responsibilities: Evolve the PMO and Project Management Expertise
. Champion a project management culture, and define the PMO vision and objectives
. Build and maintain project and portfolio delivery processes, tools, templates and best practices.
. Implement project governance, from initiation to closure, to adapt to the evolving environment
. Develop and manage plans of action to improve projects efficiency with stakeholders
. Promote project management training and other learning initiatives
. Promote lessons learned and recommended practices
Operate the PMO
. Manage the project portfolio (project prioritization, annual budget planning)
. Manage relationships with other groups involved in projects
. Conduct project and portfolio reviews with project teams & executives
. Lead project governance
. Monitor and report project and portfolio performance
. Validate project manager skill levels and project complexity classifications
. Provide support/coaching to project managers and PCOs
Lead Vendor Management
. Establish annual priorities in collaboration with Global Procurement and HR to optimize vendor savings
. Oversee the teams in the delivery of contract agreements generating new vendor savings
. Support Global Procurement & HR in ensuring OMF compliance in contract approval
. Ensure exhaustiveness of the list of contracts under Global HR responsibility
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Bachelors degree or equivalent
. PMP designation preferred
. Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience
. Strong expertise in project management and PMO in a global organization
. Strategic mindset for portfolio management
. Excellent communication and influencing skills in English and ideally in French
. Strong financial acumen
. Sound leadership & coaching abilities
. Effective relationship management capability with a broad range of stakeholders
. Continuous improvement mindset
. Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Visio, project management tools, SharePoint.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000-$175,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
