Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Job title: Project Finance Business Partner, Development Blueprint

Location: Cambridge, MA

Job Summary:

The "Project Finance Business Partner (FBP), Development" actively contributes to the strategy and execution of legacy Blueprint Clinical projects by providing an end-to-end Finance support to Global Project Team and other team members, ensuring accurate costing and evaluation of risks & opportunities, while providing reliable input for the various therapeutic area portfolio decisions.

In the second half of 2026 through first half of 2027, he/she is expected to play a key role in both Development and Finance Integration roadmaps, ensuring a seamless transition and cutover to Sanofi systems and processes, while re-establishing internal controls compliant with Sanofi Accounting Principles policies in partnership with our Controlling Operations group.

Main Responsibilities:

1) He/she will have financial responsibilities for four key assets Ayvakit, elenestinib, BLU-808 and BLU-924 with total development costs exceeding €1Bn over the development period,

2) He/she will be a Global Project Team (GPT) member and will translate the project's life and events into one single set of financial metrics including strategic plan, budget, rolling forecasts and actuals. For this, he/she will:
  • Have a thorough understanding of each clinical project
  • Provide decision making support to the Global Project Head (GPH) and Global Project Team
  • Provide budget visibility to Global Project Team members
  • Identify projects risks and opportunities from Finance perspectives
  • Analyze variances as the project progresses
  • Help the Global Project Head to find savings if/when needed


3) He/she will participate to the project strategy by:
  • Leading project valuations and establishing full project cost tables, Net Present Value and other financial metrics, prior to each Governance, within each company-wide strategic exercise (ex: Strat plan). For this, he/she will need to gain and maintains an in-depth understanding of all clinical trial designs and cost drivers in order to include clinical trial costs (Full-Time Equivalent costs, external clinical costs, comparators...) as well as non-clinical costs (Translational Medicine, Preclinical studies, Consulting costs...) and Coordinate with Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls Finance to include Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls costs in global project view
  • Preparing financial position papers prior to governance meetings to provide or help shape the position of finance prior to all investment decisions


4) He/she will be the primary Finance contact for all Global Project Team members (except Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls), by:
  • Coordinating forward-looking exercises at project level
  • Ensuring financial procedures are respected by Global Project Team
  • Supporting Global Project Team as needed
  • Coordinating with his/her finance function counterparts as needed


5) During the Integration Period, he/she will
  • Coordinate the overall integration of R&D with support of the pillars and associated FBPs
  • Oversee migration and cutover of R&D POs and establish Controlling Operations
  • Establish Clinical Trial Accrual Models for Blueprint assets consistent with SAGA
  • Establish Development Spend Envelopes for Blueprint Assets post integration (2027+)
  • Partner with Procurement, and CSO to track synergies/savings during integration period
  • Partner with Medical to establish Global Medical perimeter in accordance with Sanofi policies
  • Act as the DEV Finance representative for CSO - BPM Integration workstream
  • Act as the R&D Finance representative for BPM - Finance integration workstream


About You

Educational Background:
  • Master's Degree / MBA or CPA preferred; scientific background preferred

Professional Experience:
  • 7+ years Professional experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Minimum exposure to R&D - Experience in Clinical Development preferred


Major Skills and Competencies:
  • Knowledge/experience in rare disease or oncology preferred
  • Proven experience in team coordination / Crisp communication on key topics / Business partnering and consultation
  • Strategic thinking

The salary range for this position is:
$161,250.00 - $232,916.66
