Job Description

We are seeking a Project Environmental Scientist, Engineer, or Geologist to support the management and growth of our environmental consulting practice. This role is responsible for managing environmental investigations, remediation projects, client relationships, and multidisciplinary project teams while providing technical leadership and mentoring to staff.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and oversee field investigations, including drilling activities, logging borings, trenches, and cores.
  • Evaluate geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental site conditions.
  • Conduct and oversee soil, soil gas, vapor, and groundwater sampling programs.
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, proposals, cost estimates, and regulatory submittals.
  • Interface with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies regarding project requirements and compliance matters.
  • Provide technical support, mentorship, and guidance to staff scientists, engineers, geologists, and field technicians.
  • Participate in business development activities and support the growth of the environmental practice.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Professional licensure as a Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • Experience managing Phase I and Phase II environmental investigations and remediation projects.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and technical staff.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCBs), and local Environmental Health agencies.
  • Familiarity with California environmental regulations, remediation programs, and regulatory processes.
  • Experience supporting construction-related environmental projects.
  • Local Southern California environmental consulting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior staff and supporting technical team development.
  • Strong client management and relationship-building skills.


Additional Information

Salary range:

Senior Project Geologist/Engineer: $130,000-150,000/year

Project Geologist/Engineer: $110,000-130,000/year
