Project Engineer | Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Project Engineer - Plastic Component Design Location: Minneapolis, MN, 55415, United States Join our dynamic engineering team as a Project Engineer specializing in plastic component design. Drive innovation in consumer products, automotive, medical devices, and industrial components. Leverage your SolidWorks expertise and plastic engineering acumen to deliver high-impact solutions from concept to launch. Responsibilities - Design and develop plastic components and assemblies using advanced SolidWorks techniques (3D modeling, 2D drawings). - Create detailed engineering drawings incorporating GD&T, tolerances, and material specifications. - Conduct DFM for injection molding and related plastic processes to ensure manufacturability and performance. - Collaborate closely with tooling, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout design validation and product introduction. - Lead design reviews, feasibility studies, and FMEA risk assessments. - Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities. - Optimize designs for cost efficiency, weight reduction, and superior performance. - Ensure strict compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. - Partner with vendors and toolmakers for mold design input and production readiness. - Maintain and manage engineering documentation, BOMs, revision control, and design change requests.
