Role description:The Project Engineer II coordinates with the Design Team for conformance review and timely and accurate responses to requests for information, submittals, construction change documents, etc. Primarily you will be responsible for maintaining project files in both electronic and paper format. Occasionally, the Project Engineer II is expected to step into the roles of more senior members of the CPLT, including, without limitation, running design or construction meeting, conducting field checks, preparing written and photographic materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, guidelines, meeting minutes, and proposed board action requests to the district.
Role accountabilities - Assist in the correspondence, reports, procedures, guidelines, meeting minutes, and proposed actions.
- Maintain all project files - electronic and paper versions
- Coordinate with the Design Team for conformance review and timely and accurate responses.
- Assists in requests for information, submittals, construction change documents, etc.
- Assist in the maintenance of project files in both electronic and paper format.
- Assist in the project budget and keeping the project on schedule.
- Will help in the monitoring of compliance to applicable codes and practices.
Essential Education & Experience - 5 years of experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or construction management of commercial and/or public or educational facility construction projects.
- Education sector experience (DSA)
- BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or a closely related field. (Preferred)
- 4 years additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education.
- Experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant provisions of the California Public Contract Code.
- 2 yrs in educational facility construction. Experience in formal construction partnering.
- A current and valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or as a Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. (preferred)
- A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction. Manager Certification Institute (CMCI). (preferred)
- Experience on Division of State Architect (DSA) projects. (preferred)
- Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, to include planning, design, construction and closeout.
- Experience in alternative delivery method. Ability to multi-task, solve problems and successfully deliver projects.
