Full Job Description
What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will be responsible for scoping, preliminary designs and estimating capital expansion projects (CAPEX). Estimates will be conceptual to detailed AFE quality.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
• Position will work directly with the Commercial, Engineering, and Operations groups to define capital project scopes, design information, and assemble into project estimate packages.
• Candidates should have sound Engineering capabilities with basic understanding of project design and execution processes.
• Prior project development experience expected with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work with internal and external subject matter experts and incorporate feedback into designs.
• Experience with estimating software.
• Liquids Terminals/ Facilities type experience is a plus
• Projects will require in-depth studies of operating parameters and equipment options.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to scope projects based on previous experience and develop conceptual designs and estimates for new projects.
• Read and comprehend PFD's, P&ID's technical drawings and specifications.
• Prepare material take-offs and preliminary sketches of proposed capital projects for review with internal customers and management.
• Estimates must be well thought out, organized, logical, clear and concise.
• Confirm actual field conditions.
• Oversight and management of 3rd party Engineering assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• This position will work a hybrid schedule including work from Office 3-days (Mon-Wed) and work remotely (home) Thursdays and Fridays. The Office is located downtown at 1001 Louisiana, Houston Texas 77002. Parking or Bus service is provided.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering

EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
• A minimum of 5-7 years direct capital estimating or project management experience
• 7-10 years working in the petrochemical industry
• Detailed working knowledge of mechanical, civil, and electrical construction.
• Experience in pipe sizing, pump, and valve types.
• Familiar with general Industrial design requirements, experience in planning and executing engineering for projects.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
• Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
• The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules
• Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential
• Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
• Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
