What You Will Do The Line-Item Projects (LIP) within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Plutonium Infrastructure (ALDPI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Analytics and Reporting Director. This role offers a unique opportunity for an accomplished project professional to partner directly with project leadership in the execution of the Plutonium Infrastructure Directorate capital construction project portfolio. The Directorate is at the center of execution of capital projects in and around the Los Alamos National Laboratory's plutonium pit production facilities for U.S. nuclear weapons. The work is focused on sustaining the current nuclear weapons stockpile and providing life extensions of the stockpile. This position is critically important for the safe and efficient execution of infrastructure projects. The Project Analytics and Reporting Director is accountable to the Project Director (PD) for the Line-Item Project Planning and Reporting Division and is responsible for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving the systems, processes, tools, and personnel necessary to support effective project planning, performance measurement, forecasting, and executive reporting across the portfolio. Key responsibilities include: Leading the development and execution of integrated project reporting strategies across a complex portfolio of capital construction and infrastructure projects. Directing project analytics functions related to cost, schedule, forecasting, earned value performance, trends, productivity metrics, and project health indicators. Overseeing project controls integration, including coordination with scheduling, cost engineering, estimating, change control, risk management, and performance management teams. Ensuring the integrity, consistency, and governance of project data used for internal and external reporting. Managing the preparation and delivery of portfolio-level reporting products, dashboards, and data analytics packages for Laboratory leadership, project sponsors, and external stakeholders. Providing leadership for the implementation and continuous improvement of project management information systems, reporting tools, and data visualization capabilities. Driving standardized data quality practices and performance measurement methodologies across multiple projects and organizations. Supporting strategic planning and decision-making through predictive analytics, scenario analysis, trend evaluations, and portfolio performance assessments. Establishing a culture of accountability, transparency, and analytical rigor to support safe, efficient, and mission-focused project delivery. The Project Analytics and Reporting Director provides leadership for a technically complex and strategically significant project portfolio with substantial budget authority and high organizational visibility. The position requires strong collaboration with project executives, project sponsors, and cross-functional leadership teams to ensure that project performance information is accurate, defensible, and aligned with mission objectives. This role is ideal for a leader with deep expertise in project controls, capital project reporting, integrated scheduling, cost management, analytics, and executive communication who thrives in high-consequence, mission-driven environments. What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Technical Leadership Demonstrated expert-level knowledge as a leader or manager of projects with significant total project cost or complexity. This requires experience leading complex technical project organizations, including demonstrated experience leading strategic and tactical planning and execution, customer service, project management, continuous improvement, and management systems associated with earned value management. Position requires expert knowledge of DOE Order 413.3B and experience reporting Earned Value Management required by the order. Technical Excellence Advanced expert-level knowledge and demonstrated experience of project, program, and portfolio management, estimating, cost and scheduling, and risk management, including common software tools (e.g., P6, Cobra, Acumen). Experience supporting and/or managing independent cost estimate (ICE) and external independent reviews (EIRs) performed by DOE's Office of Project Management for major systems projects. Coalition Building Demonstrated success building and growing both internal and external relationships with a variety of constituencies, sponsors, other construction project organizations, higher-level managers, direct reports, and other employees. Demonstrated success guiding and leading program/project efforts with expertise in building and managing multiple integrated project teams. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills for a variety of employees and stakeholders are a must. Expert knowledge of DOE order 413.3B, program and project management for the acquisition of Capital Assets is a requirement Education/Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly relating to the occupation. Desired Qualifications: Government Relations Successful record of leading the development of complex institutional messages necessary to communicate to federal, state, and local government leaders. Project Work Background and experience in all aspects of engineering, procurement, and construction projects preferred. LANL Demonstrated experience interfacing with Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) management and a broad knowledge of current LANL operations and activities. Clearance Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q clearance, which requires US citizenship. Dual citizenship permitted in very limited circumstances. Work Location : The position is physically located in Richland, WA at the ALDPI Duty Station.
