Responsibilities

  • Oversee medical care for all clients in the treatment program, including special populations.
  • Assess suitability of individuals applying for admission and their ongoing health status.
  • Ensure completion of admission physicals, annual physicals, and required testing in compliance with regulations.
  • Review laboratory results and medical documentation to guide client management according to best practices.
  • Screen clients for co-morbidities and assess potential medication interactions.
  • Prescribe methadone and adjust dosages based on client history and treatment needs.
  • Write and sign medical orders tailored to individual client requirements.

This is a full-time role, up to 40hrs per week with a blend of on-site and telehealth, work-flexibility designed to fit your schedule while allowing you to support individuals on their journey to recovery.

Our treatment center hours are: 5:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. M-F

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Medically responsible for all clients enrolled in the treatment program, to include special populations (e.g., pregnant clients, HIV+, clients with Hepatitis C, clients with co-occurring disorders).
  • Must be able to assess suitability of individuals applying for
    admission as well as their ongoing physical and mental stability for outpatient substance abuse
    treatment.
  • Ensure the timely completion of admission physicals, annual physicals, medical histories, laboratory testing (including TB screening) consistent with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and sound medical practice
  • Review all laboratory results as well as medical documentation from other healthcare providers and manage each client according to established best practice and accrediting and regulatory guidelines
  • Screen clients for common medical co-morbidities and evaluate co-existing medical conditions to identify potential medication impact/drug interactions, to include over-the counter (OTC) medications
  • Prescribe and titrate the appropriate dosage of methadone consistent with the client's medical and addiction history to establish a maintenance dose
  • Order dose increases, decreases, detoxification, or supervised withdrawal after assessment of the client and his/her current treatment history
  • Write medical orders based upon the individual needs of the client and sign off on all medical orders

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Licensure in Oregon as a Physician
  • Current Oregon DEA License.

  • Meet Oregon requirements for employment in an opioid treatment program.
