Full Job Description
This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner (ASP) Organization, within the WW Public Sector partner programs team. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Program Manager, PS Scale Capability Programs & Partner Engagement to manage day-to-day operations across two interconnected workstreams: (1) the strategy and operations of AWS Public Sector (PS) Competencies, and (2) marketing and events strategy for PS Scale Capability Programs.

AWS Public Sector Competencies recognize AWS Partners who deliver validated, mission-critical solutions for governments, educational institutions, and nonprofits-including the AWS Government Competency, AWS Education Competency, and AWS Nonprofit Competency. These designations help customers instantly identify vetted vendors with specialized expertise in security, compliance, and large-scale public sector procurement.

This role will support the planning and execution of PS Competencies strategy and operations, helping define the strategic direction for how these competencies deliver value to public sector partners. The ideal candidate will evaluate the current program construct, including existing benefits and processes, and shape the go-forward strategy for program applications, partner requirements, and benefit delivery. They will also own operational excellence for the program, refining processes to increase efficiency and leveraging AI tools to automate workflows and scale impact.

In addition to PS Competencies program ownership, this role carries marketing responsibilities for the broader PS Scale Capability Programs portfolio. The successful candidate will plan and execute on-site events, develop program collateral, author blog posts and case studies, and drive measurable business outcomes through integrated marketing motions across PS Scale Capability Programs-not limited to competencies alone. They will work cross-functionally with marketing, program, sales, and in-geo teams to coordinate across stakeholders and deliver results. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of AWS's most impactful partner recognition programs while building a marketing engine that drives awareness, engagement, and partner growth across the PS Scale Capability Programs portfolio.

Key job responsibilities

Program Management & Operations (PS Competencies)

- Support the strategic direction for AWS Public Sector Competencies (Government, Education, and Nonprofit), helping define the roadmap and tracking success metrics

- Support evaluation of the current application process and benefit construct; contribute to recommendations for the go-forward strategy

- Manage partner requirements, application criteria, and benefit frameworks that drive meaningful differentiation for public sector partners

- Serve as a key point of contact for PS Competency-related initiatives across internal and external stakeholders

- Own day-to-day program operations, ensuring efficient execution of partner applications, reviews, and lifecycle management

- Identify operational gaps and implement scalable processes to improve program effectiveness

- Leverage AI tools and automation to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort

- Track program health, partner engagement, and operational metrics for leadership reporting

Marketing & Events (PS Scale Capability Programs)

- Plan and execute on-site events including logistics, speaker coordination, and attendee experience

- Develop program collateral and partner-facing materials that communicate the value of PS Scale Capability Programs

- Author blog posts, case studies, and thought leadership content showcasing partner success stories

- Create presentations, pitch decks, and visual content for diverse audiences

- Define event goals and KPIs; measure and report on marketing effectiveness to optimize future initiatives

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work cross-functionally with marketing, program, sales, and in-geo teams to align priorities and execute initiatives

- Partner with the WWPS Partner Core enablement lead to co-deliver enablement motions

- Support adjacent partner events (TBSB Communities, BOX Partner Matchmaking) ensuring PS Competencies are integrated into broader engagement motions

- Coordinate with stakeholders to drive adoption and awareness for PS Competency and PS Scale Capability Programs initiatives

- Contribute to business reviews with updates on program operations and marketing outcomes

A day in the life

In this role, you'll split your time between two distinct but complementary workstreams. On the program management side, you'll manage partner applications moving through the competency pipeline, troubleshoot process gaps, coordinate with reviewers, and maintain the operational rhythm of the program. On the marketing side, you'll be building event run-of-shows, drafting partner success stories, creating collateral for upcoming summits, and pulling post-event metrics to inform what's next. You'll regularly coordinate with in-geo teams, the WWPS Partner Core enablement lead, and cross-functional marketing partners. No two weeks look the same - one week you're heads-down on a blog series, the next you're on-site running a partner event.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience working on cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders

- Experience creating written content (e.g., blog posts, case studies, presentations, or partner-facing collateral)

- Experience using data to track program or campaign performance and inform decisions

- Experience planning or supporting events (virtual or in-person)

- Proficiency with productivity and project management tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working in a SaaS/technology company or partner-facing environment

- Familiarity with partner programs, channel sales, or certification/designation frameworks

- Experience with digital marketing, event coordination, or content production

- Familiarity with AI tools for process automation and workflow improvement

- Experience working in or with public sector organizations (government, education, nonprofit)

- Ability to create compelling visual content including presentations and decks

- Experience with CRM or partner management platforms

- Experience working in ambiguous environments and building programs from the ground up
