Program Director, School to Work Program

TriHealth is seeking a visionary and community-focused Program Director, School to Work Program to lead one of our most impactful workforce development initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to create meaningful pathways into healthcare careers while strengthening partnerships across schools, communities, and the region.

As the Director, you will provide strategic leadership for TriHealth's School to Work Program, developing and executing a multi-year vision that expands opportunities for local students to explore, experience, and pursue rewarding careers in healthcare. Through innovative programming, strong community partnerships, and collaboration with hospital and health system leaders, you will help inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals while advancing workforce solutions for the future.

In this highly visible leadership role, you will serve as the primary relationship leader for Cincinnati Public Schools and other educational, community, and funding partners. You will drive program growth, expand student participation, cultivate new partnerships, and create engaging paid learning experiences that expose students to both clinical and non-clinical career pathways throughout TriHealth.

The Director is responsible for strategic planning, financial stewardship, outcomes measurement, program expansion, grant compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to a Hospital President or Senior Vice President, this leader will champion TriHealth's commitment to community investment, educational advancement, and workforce development.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy for the School to Work Program.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with schools, community organizations, and funding partners.
  • Expand opportunities for students to gain meaningful, paid healthcare experiences.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the health system to create innovative career exploration and workforce development programs.
  • Lead program staff and advisory groups while driving measurable outcomes and community impact.
  • Manage program operations, budgets, grants, reporting, and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Education, Business, Public Administration, Human Resources, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 3 - 4 years' experience in workforce development, education partnerships, healthcare programs, youth employment, or a related field (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a healthcare, hospital, or clinical environment; grant management, funder reporting, advisory boards, data tracking, outcomes measurement, or program evaluation (Preferred)
  • Strategic leadership and program management; relationship-building with schools, healthcare leaders, funders, and community partners; budget management and financial reporting; staff supervision and coaching; student-centered and equity-focused approach; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex programs, managing strategic partnerships, and driving measurable organizational outcomes.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a healthcare system, hospital, educational institution, nonprofit, or community-based organization.
  • Experience managing grants, funding partnerships, compliance requirements, and program reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategic vision for TriHealth's School to Work Program, aligning initiatives with organizational workforce needs, community engagement goals, and future talent pipeline strategies.
  • Lead annual planning, program expansion efforts, operational excellence initiatives, and continuous improvement activities to ensure sustainable program growth and impact.
  • Serve as TriHealth's primary relationship leader with Cincinnati Public Schools and key educational, community, philanthropic, and workforce development partners.
  • Cultivate and expand partnerships that increase student access, participation, career exposure, and employment opportunities across the health system.
  • Collaborate with hospital, physician, and corporate leaders to identify workforce needs and create innovative student learning experiences, career pathways, internships, and employment opportunities.
  • Oversee all aspects of the student experience, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, engagement, performance support, and career navigation.
  • Lead and develop program staff while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and exceptional service.
  • Ensure effective stewardship of program budgets, grants, and funding resources, including compliance, reporting, and sustainability planning.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, workforce outcomes, participant success measures, and community impact metrics, communicating results to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Represent TriHealth at community events, workforce development councils, educational forums, and strategic partnerships to advance the organization's reputation as a leader in healthcare workforce development.
  • Lead advisory groups and stakeholder committees to guide program strategy, strengthen partnerships, and ensure ongoing alignment with community and organizational priorities.
