Role PurposeThe Emerging Innovations Program and Business Development Manager will lead a team of highly skilled technical, commercial, and manufacturing SMEs and work closely with partners to solve problems and build profitable new automotive growth businesses from innovations in glass, ceramics, and other materials. This requires setting objectives, building a team, making plans, and leading the team to accomplish all key commercial, technology, product development, business development, and manufacturing objectives. Special emphasis will be placed on accelerating NPI and scaling to production new technologies for glass IR optics material and component production. Ultimately, the individual will lead the team to produce, sell, and scale a first of a kind Corning product for an exciting new automotive application.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain cross-business/functional team including members from multiple Corning locations, organizations, functions, and businesses
- Develop and deliver program objectives, scorecard, business case, budgets, and schedules
- Communicate plans and progress to all constituents and build required support to enable success
- Create and refine value proposition and deliver it to potential partners and customers
- Create and execute business development activities to enable revenue plans
- Exercise technical judgment and provide recommendations to refine and improve product development.
- In collaboration with constituents, define manufacturing implementation and ramp up plans
Experiences/Education - Required- Bachelor's Degree in technical field
- 10+ years prior work experience in techno-commercial functions including business analysis, business development, commercial technology, innovation program management, engineering, development, etc.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate and reach alignment across functional boundaries
- Experience introducing and creating customer buy-in for new technologies and their value proposition
- Ability to operate effectively in environment with significant complexity and ambiguity
Experiences/Education - Desired- Master's Degree, MBA and/or PHD
- Strong analytical skills and synthesis capability
- Participation in, or management of, multicultural and/or multi-geographic projects
- Experience across the innovation cycle (i.e., early and late stage)
- Ability to navigate across Corning's management network
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $151,376.00 - $208,142.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
