Full Job Description
Production System Specialist

Company:

The Boeing Company

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Production System Specialist to join the Propulsion Systems Division team across Everett and Kent, Washington on 1st shift. This is a floating, cross-site resource for the division: an analyst and project lead who measures whether improvements are holding and leads larger improvement projects across our sites.

Position Responsibilities
  • Owns cross-site measurement and analytics: builds and runs the metrics that show whether improvements are holding across the division’s sites, feeding the team’s Oobeya (command-center) reviews.

  • Runs data analysis to size opportunities and validate results.

  • Runs data analytics on Line-Side Control Center (LSCC) effectiveness and uses it to point the team’s improvement work where it matters most.

  • Leads problem-solving (including BPSM) and manages larger cross-area improvement projects end to end; bench strength for the bigger initiatives.

  • Manage a portfolio of improvement work – prioritizing and sequencing across multiple initiatives and sites to put capacity where it returns the most.

  • Enable site 5S as a sustained standard – coordinating initiatives and logistics, and building the measures that keep it holding – so manufacturing owns the work and sees its value.

  • Deploy, implement, and sustain Boeing Production System standards across the division – making the principles operational as standard work that holds, not a one-time rollout.

  • Works with organizations to develop strategies, plans, and metrics to achieve business objectives.

  • Conducts assessments of processes and practices for comparison to applicable standards and criteria.

  • Analyzes and interprets data; provides feedback on assessment results and identifies opportunities for improvement and areas of risk.

  • Leads complex group work sessions selecting and using advanced Lean principles, processes, and tools to implement the Boeing Production System for internal or external customers.

  • Works at the appropriate level in the organization to implement strategies and plans; works under minimal direction.

  • Provides flexible additional capacity across the division as priorities shift.

Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.

  • 3+ years collecting and analyzing process and performance data.

  • 3+ years managing or leading improvement / process-improvement projects.

  • 3+ years using Lean Manufacturing and/or continuous-improvement practices and tools in the workplace.

  • 3+ years working with cross-functional teams.

  • 3+ years using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • 1+ years leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • Ability to present information to various groups, including senior and executive leadership; Bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • Experience with manufacturing processes and CI methodologies; strong analytical skills.
