About the OpportunityFDM is partnering with a leading global financial institution to hire a
Production Support Engineer supporting a front-office trading environment within the Investment Banking division. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a technical background who are looking to build their careers in financial services while working closely with traders, technology teams, and business stakeholders on a high-impact trade floor.
The successful candidate will provide application and production support for business-critical trading and risk management systems, ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of platforms that support daily trading activities.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and support production applications within a fast-paced front-office trading environment.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application, system, and data issues impacting business users.
- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventative measures.
- Work closely with traders, sales teams, operations, and technology groups to resolve issues efficiently.
- Analyze system logs, application performance metrics, and database queries to identify and resolve problems.
- Support incident management processes, including issue tracking, escalation, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain support scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in deployment activities, system upgrades, and production releases.
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and operational best practices.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance platform stability and user experience.
Required Skills & Experience- 1-3 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, Technical Support, or a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, or data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Experience supporting business-critical applications in a production environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact directly with business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience within Financial Services, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or a trading environment.
- Understanding of financial products, trade lifecycle concepts, or front-office operations.
- Familiarity with incident management and monitoring tools.
- Exposure to market data, electronic trading, risk systems, or trade processing platforms.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation best practices.
