Full Job Description
Position Summary:

As the Production Supervisor, you play a vital role in ensuring employee safety, maintaining product quality, and optimizing asset performance, all while adhering to the production schedule. This position demands exceptional leadership skills, including active participation in the hiring process, onboarding new employees, managing performance, and implementing corrective actions. Your problem-solving abilities extend beyond daily operations, as you champion continuous improvement initiatives throughout the entire plant. To succeed in this role, it is essential to foster proactive collaboration with other teams both on-site and within the broader division, ensuring alignment between your area and the organization as a whole. As a role model, the Production Supervisor must lead by example, cultivating a workplace culture that inspires and motivates associates at all levels. Your commitment to achieving results will be evaluated through key performance metrics, ultimately determining the success of your efforts.

Work Schedule: 12 hour rotating shift (5:00 PM-5:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely implementation of the people development plan and verify the competencies of your team in accordance with the agreed plan with the Project Manager. This includes providing proper training, including equipment operation, safety procedures, and hygiene practices. Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) among all team members.
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times. Ensure that updated work instructions are available for all positions and that processes are carried out in accordance with SOPs, SSOPs, and other relevant documentation. Communicate and execute activities with environmental impact in accordance with environmental management protocols.
  • Ensure the achievement of quality objectives, including regular adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), conducting sanitation audits, performing food safety checks, and conducting product quality inspections as per company policies.
  • Actively participate in preventing and correcting quality-related errors. Monitor and enforce personnel hygiene and safety practices, such as the use of protective clothing (uniforms), changing shoes, and handwashing. Continuously coach employees to meet and exceed job requirements using the NCE approach.
  • Review daily target achievements and report any deviations during on-the-floor and review meetings. Develop and implement action plans to address the root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives. Facilitate smooth handoffs and effectively communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
  • Ensure continuous line controls and take immediate corrective action to maintain prescribed quality standards and comply with manufacturing instructions, internal and external regulations, procedures, and policies. Maintain effective employee and industrial relations management to ensure ongoing smooth factory operations.
  • Ensure the distribution of skills is adequate to effectively achieve the production plan. Ensure timely product launches in coordination with the business unit/area. Coordinate with quality, engineering, and administration to ensure proper maintenance of facilities. Review daily maintenance effectiveness with Maintenance Mechanics and team members to identify opportunities for improvement. Prioritize, schedule, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and repairs to maximize efficiency.


Experience & Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant manufacturing or production work experience (including experience gained during military service) preferred in lieu of a degree.
  • 1-3 years of prior production supervisory experience is required.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel - Intermediate level)
