JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Production Manager at Ubi Toronto, you will break down a game vision into a roadmap of achievable milestones and focus the day-to-day efforts of a production team to reach them.

While overseeing your direct reports, you will define, plan, prioritize, communicate, and track project deliverables.

You will maintain a broad view of the production floor, with a realistic understanding of team capabilities, clear awareness of interdependencies, and a strong grasp of the steps required to achieve objectives. You will ensure your team is equipped to deliver high-quality features and content to players-on time and in a supportive environment.

What you'll do
  • Partner with the core team to understand the overall game vision and requirements
  • Define and plan the scope of your deliverables (e.g. level art, audio, UI, VFX, missions, economy, gameplay rules, etc.), build production schedules, and develop strategies
  • Regularly meet with your team to assign tasks, review progress and challenges, communicate milestones, prioritize deliverables, present updates, address concerns, and gather feedback
  • Track, monitor, and analyze the production schedule; adjust scope and strategies as needed
  • Provide your team with the tools and structure needed to work efficiently and deliver quality (documentation, pipelines, reviews, communication channels, etc.)
  • Coordinate approvals and debugging of deliverables, and keep team leads up to date on progress and risks
  • Collaborate with other production managers to ensure consistency, remove blockers, and mitigate risks
  • Prepare and evaluate post-mortems to continuously improve production processes
  • Support recruitment efforts to build your team and foster the professional growth and career progression of its members
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for your team members
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate degree in Project Management, Business, Administration, or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of management or related experience (experience in the video game industry or as a Scrum Master is an asset)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Jira)
  • Ability to balance shifting short-term priorities with long-term objectives
  • Collaborative, attentive, empathetic, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, curiosity, resourcefulness, and adaptability
  • Knowledge of Agile principles is an asset
