JOB SUMMARY

Member of multi-discipline team responsible for Test process and execution in support of developing non-destructive test (NDT) equipment and associated automated delivery systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Perform engineering tasks in support of test activities to ensure quality and requirements compliance for Zetec hardware and software products.
  • Participate in the development and deployment of Zetec hardware/software test processes.
  • Supports the Zetec product development process; responsibilities include understanding requirements, specification, and design documentation to prepare for prototyping, engineering verification test, design validation test and pilot.
  • Develop test plans, procedures and conduct basic to complex hardware/software test and trouble-shooting activities, analyzing, and documenting test results.
  • Test activities include, but are not limited to requirements compliance, performance, load, general electrical and mechanical tests.
  • Define and set up lab environments as needed to conduct testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Become the technical expert for hardware/software testing (requires knowledge on a variety of test equipment, computers and Zetec hardware and software products).
  • Research and recommend industry best practices for hardware/software test. Assist in team decision making about practices to implement and assist in the implementation activities.
  • Support "out-of-the-box" thinking to help develop and improve Zetec's capabilities through design and manufacturing.
  • Promote quality through teamwork.
  • Follow all company safety policies and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to fulfill the requirements of this position.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
  • Effective communicator capable of adapting written and verbal communications to suit a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of UL/CE/CSA certification and of EMI/EMC test processes and procedures (desired for hardware).
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and duties.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for use of tools in engineering with good dexterity.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring drawings desired.
  • Must be detail oriented, accurate and methodical.
  • Ability to teach technical processes and techniques to less experienced personnel.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree related field (electrical or mechanical engineering) preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in hardware, software, test, or other engineering role
