The Product Marketing Manager owns the upstream portion of the product journey to market by leading the product positioning and the development of the growth plan through new product development for multiple business units’ product categories. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to create effective marketing campaigns and develop product positioning strategies across multiple areas of the product life cycle, with a high degree of time spent on the launch.
Develop brand roadmap for multiple business units, including brand positioning, value proposition, naming strategy, sub-brand, and tier strategy.
Responsible for end to end NPI commercialization process from scope definition, value proposition, commercial deployment, training and funnel creation and conversion.
Own marketing growth plan for the business unit and corresponding product categories with insights from product management, channel marketing and sales.
Responsible for brand trademark process with business unit.
Incorporate competitive positioning into overall product strategy, including benchmarks, fighter sheets, new product launch awareness, and market trends.
Responsible for new product launch plan and leading effective product launches aligned to the go-to-market strategy.
Analyze consumer research, market trends and business performance to optimize marketing plans and create differentiated strategies.
Collaborate with creative, media and channel marketing to develop strategy.
Define key customer persona profiles, including messaging and key performance indicators, with input from channel, vertical and digital marketing.
Set product strategy for Creative team and provides direction on product focus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor27s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field required; MBA preferred
5+ years of experience in product, channel or brand marketing, ideally with a focus on product marketing with experience driving go-to-market launches
Experience working in a cross functional environment with engineering, operations, marketing and sales
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends
Ability to lead cross-functional teams in the development launch of new products and other business initiatives
Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset and ability to influence cross-functionally and upwards, as well as challenge the status-quo
Self-reliant and results oriented; Works independently with minimal direction, driven, high sense of urgency, takes initiative, gets the job done. Deadline oriented.
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills essential to interact effectively with all organizational levels
Ability to be a team player. Projects and programs require substantial cross-functional work within the Company.
Absorbs information quickly; classical marketing analytic skills, i.e., consumer and market research, along with volume, price and profitability trend analyses, and program-effectiveness evaluations
Intent listener and a persuasive communicator. Written communications include recommendation briefs, marketing and capital spending requests, consumer collateral and sales training and presentation tools. Verbal communications include one-on-one and small group discussions, sales meetings, and customer presentations.
Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
Flexibility: Ability to pivot quickly based on dynamic market changes. Ability to work with changing priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Constant Contact, Canva and Adobe
Ability to travel up to 25%
