Full Job Description
The Role:

Product Platform Services group is a single hub through which all Morningstar Direct Platform products access Morningstar data and analytics. Within this organization, Data Access Services power product teams with fast, consistent, and entitlement-aware data delivery, covering data retrieval, screening, metadata discovery, entity lookup, and third-party license management.

We are looking for a Product Manager who will start by working with product owner to drive the roadmap delivery of Investment API within Data Access Services. As you deepen your understanding of the platform, the role is expected to evolve toward developing and maintaining quality management framework, tools and dashboards as products within Data Access Services, working closely with services owners to enable the delivery of high-quality, reliable and sophisticated data to products.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and execute the roadmap for Investment API, translating defined product priorities into clear requirements, well-scoped, deliverable outcomes for the squad.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of prioritized initiatives, keeping work on track from requirements through release against agreed scope and quality outcomes.
  • Author and maintain product artifacts: user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint goals, and release notes.
  • Work closely with the squad to clarify requirements, resolve day-to-day trade-offs, and maintain sprint velocity.
  • Support sprint planning and release coordination in partnership with the engineering lead.
  • As the role matures, develop and continuously improve operational dashboards that surface real-time visibility into platform health, data quality, release cadence, and SLA performance, translating those insights into the operational changes needed and partnering with service owners to drive adoption of best practices.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of product management experience, preferably focusing on data/content API products or enterprise data service.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into executable requirements and backlog items.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data requirements, use SQL to analyze data, and make data-driven prioritization decisions.
  • Strong ownership and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and influence stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Proficiency in Agile delivery including backlog management, story authoring, and sprint planning.
  • Strong communication skills in writing, conversation and presentation and ability to engage the team members and stakeholders effectively.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field
