Job Description:

Purpose of the Role

The Product Manager will own the strategy, performance, and profitability of assigned product categories throughout the product lifecycle. As the business leader for their portfolio, they will collaborate cross-functionally across Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Finance to optimize portfolio performance and successfully commercialize new products. We’re seeking business-minded professionals who excel at problem-solving, communicate effectively, and thrive in entrepreneurial environments. Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to leverage the ITW Business Model—including 80/20 prioritization and simplification—to drive profitable growth across assigned product categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Portfolio Management

Own the strategy and performance of assigned product categories throughout the product lifecycle. Lead portfolio optimization through product mix management, pricing strategy, SKU rationalization, and capacity planning in partnership with Operations and Engineering to maximize profitable growth.

  • Financial Ownership

Own the P&L for assigned product categories and deliver revenue, margin, and profitability objectives through disciplined management of key business metrics, forecasts, and performance indicators.

  • Competitive & Market Intelligence

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape, product positioning, pricing, and market dynamics for assigned categories. Monitor competitive actions and portfolio performance to identify opportunities for incremental product improvements and portfolio optimization.

  • Product Commercialization

Lead the commercialization of new products from development through launch. Partner with cross-functional teams to develop launch plans, demand forecasts, sales tools, channel training, and go-to-market execution to ensure successful market introduction.

  • Business Planning

Provide input into annual and long-range operating plans, product forecasts, portfolio recommendations and key initiatives to support revenue, margin, and long-term growth objectives. Monitor portfolio performance and recommend actions to improve business results.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in business, engineering, marketing, or comparable    discipline

  • 3+ years of marketing experience

  • 2+ years of product management experience

  • Ability to analyze financial results

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point

  • The ability to travel is approximately 20%

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree

  • Full product lifecycle management experience

  • Experience with durable goods

  • Strong team/project management, communications, and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

  • Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure

Compensation Information:

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, market level, other job-related factors, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. As applicable this role will also receive overtime compensation and may be eligible for shift premium compensation.

Pay Range:$89,000-125,000
