Full Job Description

What You'll Do

IronRidge is seeking a Product Manager to grow our residential and commercial product segments while optimizing our existing product portfolio. This role will be at the heart of ensuring we continue developing products that solve meaningful customer needs, while driving revenue and margin growth, and strengthening our competitive position.

This position will identify and evaluate new opportunities, translate them into clear product requirements and business cases, and work closely with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain and Sales to bring new products to market. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Product Manager who can quickly take ownership of an existing portfolio and active new product development programs, operate independently, make sound recommendations with incomplete information, and drive toward decisions and successful execution.

This is a high-visibility role with regular interaction with customers, senior management, and cross-functional leadership. The successful candidate must be a strong communicator and presenter who can synthesize technical, commercial, and customer information into clear recommendations and confidently represent Product Management across different audiences.

Experience managing engineered physical products in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. Solar experience is valuable but not required; experience in construction products, electrical hardware, industrial products, building products, energy equipment, or adjacent industries is highly relevant. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Job Duties Include:
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers, business drivers, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and guide product decisions
  • Monitor and track the commercial performance of assigned product lines, including revenue, gross margin, pricing, competitive positioning, product mix, and make lifecycle decisions
  • Conduct customer research and VOC to identify unmet needs, validate opportunities, and translate insights into clear product and market requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional NPI teams to bring new products to market that meet strategic, financial and customer objectives
  • Create MRDs/PRDs, business cases, and Make vs. Buy vs. Partner recommendations for new product opportunities
  • Evaluate and recommend trade-off decisions with respect to time, features and resources to meet product launch and business objectives
  • Use product analytics, BI tools, market data, and financial performance to identify opportunities for growth, margin improvement, and portfolio optimization
  • Support overall product strategy and roadmap development for assigned product lines
  • Recommend pricing strategies based on cost, competitive positioning, customer value and margin objectives
  • Conduct customer interviews, internal product reviews and participate in cross-functional decision-making meetings with confidence and credibility
  • Coordinate product launches, transitions, forecasting, build planning, and EOL activities across Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations and Program Management
  • Travel approximately 15% (Customer, distribution partner, trade shows and company locations)

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in product management, product development, engineering or a related role, including experience owning engineered physical products
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Hands-on, ownership-oriented mentality with an interest in solar and clean energy
  • Proven track-record of managing and launching successful products in B2B environments
  • Experience with solar, electrical, construction, building products, industrial hardware, or other engineered products strongly preferred
  • Ability to quickly understand engineered products and technical concepts and translate between customer needs, commercial requirements, and engineering solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate technical concepts for executive, sales, and customer audiences
  • Strong financial and analytical capability, including market sizing, volume forecasting, business-case development, price / margin analysis and evaluation of financial and technical tradeoffs
  • Ability to gather information from customers, sales, market research, competitive intelligence, product data, and other sources and synthesize it into clear insights and recommendations
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, making sound recommendations with incomplete information, and moving work forward with limited direction
