Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Design Engineer in Additive Manufacturing at Siemens Energy you will immerse yourself in the development of sustainable design solutions for large gas turbines. Your day-to-day tasks will involve:
  • Collaborating with component engineering teams to integrate AM designs that promote decarbonization and improve the efficiency of our large gas turbines
  • Utilizing advanced CAD software to create and optimize 3D models for new turbine components.
  • Conducting simulations and analyses to ensure designs achieve environmental and performance targets.
  • Leading prototyping efforts and coordinating with production teams to implement your innovative designs.
  • Engaging in continuous learning to remain at the cutting edge of AM technology and sustainability practices.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Manufacturing development of gas turbine components by advancing our additive manufacturing capabilities to reduce the carbon footprint of energy production.
  • Conduct dimensional evaluations, tolerance stack, fits and clearance analysis, draft and revise product definition, and other engineering related tasks.
  • Disposition manufacturing deviations and non-conformances with the consideration of impact on cost, functionality, performance and durability.
  • Ensure new components follow the principles of design for manufacturing, as well as design for manufacturing philosophies. Evaluate manufacturing processes and methods for appropriate implementation of technical requirements.
What You Bring
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, with a focus on conventional and additive manufacturing and product development.
  • 10 years' aerospace or industrial gas turbines design or manufacturing process. More years of experience can be considered at a higher level.
  • CAD software (preferably Siemens NX), FEA tools, and MS Office, Siemens PLM Teamcenter, SAP
  • Developing technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and engineering reports.
  • A mindset geared towards innovation, teamwork, and the promotion of an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong project management skills and a hands-on approach to find solutions
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
