The Product Counsel Role
Qlik is seeking an experienced attorney to join its global legal team. This position will support our fast-growing business on complex and emerging issues, including support for AI, new products features and services, and advising on general IP matters. This position will be responsible for working closely across multiple business units to help achieve business goals within acceptable risk tolerances and in accordance with corporate policies. The Product Counsel will help our product and technology leaders navigate the complexities of legal, regulatory and commercial and trust considerations to make the right decisions. In this role, you will help Qlik move faster and more confidently by bringing legal and regulatory thinking into product roadmap discussions.

Here's how you'll be making an impact:
Strong business judgment and ability to balance risk management with commercial objectives. Bring a solutions-oriented, business-savvy approach to legal and cross-functional questions, and turn complex legal requirements into practical, scalable guidance.
Responsible for open source issues and requests, ensuring compliance with licensing terms.
Leverage knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts and emerging technology to advise on the development and implementation of AI-driven features.
Review multi-channel product marketing materials for compliance with federal and state laws and best practices. Provide guidance to product management and product marketing teams to ensure product positioning, commitments, marketing claims, and contractual obligations remain aligned.
Work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand, analyze and advise on issues, and clearly translate technology requirements and priorities to collaborate with other subject matter experts..
Work with the Americas Sales team to negotiate SaaS, software and services contracts as well as related agreements, including NDAs, DPAs and BAAs. Work closely with the finance and sales operations organizations to ensure that transactions meet business and finance goals.
Identify and leverage technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to expand impact and improve the delivery of legal and business guidance.
Support engineering on patent and incentive programs, and work with outside counsel on patent review and filing.
Draft, review and negotiate technology vendor agreements. Support the development of resources to aid business stakeholders in procurement.
Develop strong working knowledge of legal systems and sales systems (CRM, CLM) as well as workflows. Contribute to process improvement and contract templates.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into practical business guidance.
We're looking for a teammate with:
Must have a JD with demonstrated achievement from an accredited law school and be admitted to a state bar.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 7 years' experience, including experience at a technology company or and in a technology-related practice at a reputable law firm.
Experience negotiating software and SaaS agreements. Preference for experience counseling on product legal issues or intellectual property rights while effectively collaborating with technology professionals.
Preference for business-oriented candidates with a background in computer or software technology, or a demonstrable interest in the field, coupled with experience advising on open source, licensing, intellectual property, and artificial intelligence matters. Strong interest in learning about emerging technologies.
Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to executing miscellaneous projects from inception to completion as business needs evolve.
Hybrid position based in King of Prussia, PA (Greater Philadelphia).
Strong written and communication skills as well as strong negotiation, documentation and presentation skills in a cross-functional and global role.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships in cross-functional teams. Desire to be a strategic partner to the business.
Efficient and organized professional with an ability to multitask on a multitude of matters under significant time pressure and attention to detail.
Independent thinking, strong analytical skills and business acumen, while adhering to corporate policies and risk tolerances. Ability to deliver clear and concise legal counsel within deadlines.

Salary and Benefits: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $225,000.00USD MIN - $244,000.00 USD MAX per year. This position is eligible for a bonus of 20% under the Company's corporate bonus plan. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate's location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
