Project Overview:

We are building high performing teams to deliver complex EPC heavy civil project and looking for motivated, hands-on, collaborative innovators, doers, and problem solvers. The projects are hydro power generation with scopes including roadway development, significant structures including dams, spillways, tunnel waterways, inlet/outlet structures, hydromechanical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and site facilities and buildings. Job Summary:

Procurement Support Engineer provides engineering support for procurement activities associated with civil, mechanical, or electrical equipment, materials, and services required for the SRP Pumped Storage Project. The role is responsible for supporting the preparation of material requisitions, technical specifications, bid packages, technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and engineering coordination activities.

Working under the direction of the Engineering Procurement Lead, the Procurement Support Engineer interfaces with discipline engineering teams, procurement personnel, suppliers, and project controls to ensure procurement deliverables are issued accurately and in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements.#LI-RM1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and support the development of Material Requisitions (MRs), technical specifications, datasheets, and procurement documentation.
  • Coordinate collection and consolidation of discipline engineering inputs required for procurement packages.
  • Ensure procurement deliverables are technically accurate, complete, and aligned with project requirements.
  • Assist in defining technical scope, design criteria, performance requirements, and interface requirements for procurement packages.
  • Participate in procurement planning activities and support package prioritization based on project schedules.
  • Review vendor technical proposals for compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Support preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) reports and technical comparison matrices.
  • Identify technical deviations, exceptions, and compliance gaps within vendor submissions.
  • Participate in bidder clarification meetings and document technical responses.
  • Support engineering recommendations for vendor selection and award.
  • Respond to vendor technical queries during bid and execution phases.
  • Coordinate review and approval of vendor documents and supplier submittals.
  • Support resolution of technical issues arising during procurement and fabrication activities.
  • Monitor progress of vendor deliverables and identify potential impacts to project schedule.
  • Work with discipline leads and suppliers to resolve engineering and procurement interface issues.


Major Responsibilities(Contd.):

  • Track procurement engineering deliverables against procurement schedules and key milestones.
  • Support preparation of procurement status reports, action logs, and interface registers.
  • Monitor assigned procurement packages and identify risks to procurement readiness.
  • Assist in maintaining procurement records and document traceability within project systems.
  • Ensure procurement packages comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Support quality reviews of procurement documentation before issue.
  • Verify technical consistency between engineering design documents and procurement requirements.
  • Promote safety-in-design principles and constructability considerations during package development.
  • Ensure compliance with project procedures, engineering standards, and document management requirements.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 10 to 12 years of engineering experience, including procurement support, package engineering, vendor management, or equipment procurement on major infrastructure, power, hydroelectric, industrial, or EPC projects.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in preparing Material Requisitions, technical specifications, datasheets, and procurement documentation.
  • Familiarity with Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) processes and vendor qualification activities.
  • Knowledge of EPC project delivery and engineering-procurement-construction interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of major equipment and material procurement processes relevant to Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines.
  • Familiarity with EDMS and project systems such as Aconex, ACC, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously and work independently with limited supervision.
