Job Description and Salary

ArentFox Schiff is seeking an associate to join the 1 st - 4 th year associate class for its Private Clients, Trusts & Estates group in our Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have estate planning experience, including drafting, implementing, and administering sophisticated lifetime and testamentary planning strategies and handling estate and trust administration. Responsibilities will include advising high net worth individuals, families, and family offices, drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and ancillary documents. Further responsibilities will include research and projection of tax implications of planning techniques, preparation of client educational and summary materials, and meeting and communicating directly with clients to advance their goals. The desire to work in a sophisticated environment and the ability to manage multiple projects is paramount. The candidate will be expected to support partners across our platform, not limited to the office in which they are ultimately hired. Tax LLM, tax certification, or concentration in law school tax courses is a plus.

The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $215,000 to a maximum of $275,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus program with opportunities for discretionary incentives that may include productivity, business development, and merit-based components, subject to applicable policies.
