This position will be part of Sanford Health's new Transformation area, helping advance enterprise priorities through technology integration, capability assessment, and cross-functional execution. Provides principal level technical leadership to facilitate planning and directing the design, installation, modification, and operation of information systems.
Works directly with the Chief Technology and Digital Officer to compare vendors and assess their capabilities against Sanford Health's strategic, operational, technical, and financial needs. Partners directly with Operations leaders to identify and vet artificial intelligence (AI) and automation opportunities, clarify business value and readiness, and support informed prioritization. Provides light project management and status tracking across evaluations and initiatives, including documenting decisions, monitoring milestones, coordinating follow-up actions, and communicating progress, risks, dependencies, and next steps to key stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience evaluating, prioritizing, or supporting artificial intelligence, automation, or emerging technology opportunities highly preferred.
Experience partnering with vendors to compare capabilities, evaluate solution fit, review roadmaps, clarify requirements, and support informed technology selection decisions also highly preferred.
Summary
Provides principal level technical leadership to facilitate planning and directing the design, installation, modification, and operation of information systems. Leads the technical components of system rationalization and integration across a portfolio of systems and infrastructure. Evaluates the cost benefit analysis and business strategic alignment of system consolidation and rationalization efforts. Leads the analysis, planning and execution of data center strategy, consolidation and migration.
Job Description
Prepares and implements plans for systems maintenance, production activities, and necessary support resources. Oversees and leads the infrastructure capacity planning process by collaborating with system owners and vendors to align system capacity with business plans. Prepares cost estimates for current and proposed projects, reflecting the technical, process and staff requirements.
Responsible for the management and oversight of multiple inter-dependent infrastructure and system integration projects. Oversees all aspects of assigned infrastructure integration projects throughout project lifecycles to ensure completion and alignment to scope, quality, time and financial requirements.
Leads the infrastructure organization through disaster recovery, system resiliency and single-point of failure analysis, planning and preparedness. Builds, runs and maintains processes to support a living infrastructure disaster plan that aligns with critical business needs. Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity and space requirements are met across a variety of platforms.
Serves as the senior most expert resource to information technology (IT) groups in planning the resource requirements for systems under development. Performs technical due diligence in system acquisition scenarios. Provides executive leaders with analysis, insights, gaps, risks and opportunities for consideration in system acquisition. Develops and proposes enterprise system roadmaps. Analyzes systems and future state designs for critical dependencies and creates proposals, cost estimates and execution plans. Creates and executes on risk mitigation and related system integrations, migrations and consolidations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required with fifteen years information technology and infrastructure leadership and/or hands-on experience. Also will consider Master's degree with ten years experience.
