Join Vultr
Vultr is seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager, Networking to define and drive the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Vultr's networking portfolio, including VPCs, routing, private connectivity, transit, DDoS mitigation, peering, and GPU cluster networking.
As a Principal-level individual contributor and the first dedicated TPM on the Networking team, you will partner closely with engineering leadership to shape long-term product direction, translate complex infrastructure capabilities into differentiated customer-facing products, and drive alignment across engineering, product, and go-to-market teams.
The ideal candidate is a technically grounded product leader who can engage deeply with networking architecture, make strong strategic and prioritization decisions, and bring clarity to complex initiatives spanning multiple teams. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to help define both Vultr's networking roadmap and the product management playbook for the organization.
Key Responsibilities - Own and drive the product strategy and roadmap across Vultr's networking portfolio, including VPC, routing, NAT/IGW, firewall/security groups, private connectivity, transit, DDoS, peering, and GPU/cluster networking.
- Partner with engineering leadership to align customer needs and product priorities with technical architecture, engineering capacity, scalability, and long-term platform goals.
- Translate complex infrastructure capabilities and architecture decisions into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and execution plans.
- Define requirements for new networking capabilities, including VPC features, routing and gateway functionality, cross-region connectivity, and RDMA/RoCE fabric services.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple engineering and business teams, driving alignment, prioritization, and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to differentiate Vultr's networking platform across cloud, enterprise, and AI/GPU infrastructure use cases.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive cloud networking landscape and use market insights to influence roadmap and investment priorities.
- Drive go-to-market readiness in partnership with marketing, documentation, support, and sales.
- Communicate product strategy, roadmap, technical tradeoffs, and priorities to both technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
Qualifications - Significant product management experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, distributed systems, or similarly complex technical products.
- Experience operating as a senior or Principal-level individual contributor with influence across multiple engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of data center and cloud networking concepts, including EVPN-VXLAN, VRFs, routing, NAT, load balancing, firewalling, private connectivity, and network security.
- Experience with cloud networking technologies such as VPCs, transit networking, peering, gateways, DDoS mitigation, multi-region networking, or software-defined networking.
- Experience with high-performance networking, GPU/AI infrastructure, RDMA, RoCE, or cluster networking is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to turn complex technical problems into clear product strategies, roadmaps, and requirements.
- Strong product judgment and experience prioritizing across customer needs, technical investments, and long-term strategy.
- Proven ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders without direct authority.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where mature processes do not yet exist.
