Principal Product Manager - Customer Identity and Access Management

About the job

At GEICO, subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, we’re on a mission to redefine insurance through technology, innovation, and customer obsession. As a leader in Auto insurance and other product lines, we’re building modern digital products and platforms to power the future of insurance. Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a critical component of our digital strategy, ensuring secure, seamless access for millions of customers.

As part of this once in a life-time opportunity to make a real impact in insurance marketplace, we are looking for an accomplished, customer obsessed and results-oriented Principal Product Manager. This role is perfect if you enjoy getting into the weeds with customers, designers, and engineers as much as you enjoy building alignment with senior leadership. Both are critical for success. At GEICO, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our future. Our core values of collaboration and innovation guide us in delivering best-in-class solutions that delight our customers. This role requires an expert who will help drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for IAM platforms and services at GEICO — balancing world-class security with frictionless user experiences. This leader will partner with engineering, security and business stakeholders to ensure the right people have the right access at the right time, all while maintaining the trust of our users and regulators. If you want to be part of shaping the landscape for GEICO to thrive in an ever-evolving environment, we are looking for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Evolve the product vision and roadmap for GEICO’s IAM platform (e.g., authentication, authorization, federation, privileged access, identity lifecycle, etc.)
  • Translate complex business and security requirements into clear product strategies and actionable features
  • Partner closely with cybersecurity, engineering, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure IAM capabilities that meet enterprise needs
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on risk, impact, and effort, using data and stakeholder input to guide decisions
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and threat landscapes to keep GEICO’s IAM platform modern and compliant
  • Lead cross-functional teams through full product lifecycle — from discovery and design to delivery and measurement
  • Influence and align executive stakeholders on product direction and outcomes
  • Mentor and coach junior product managers within the IAM domain
  • Ensure IAM solutions meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Define KPIs, monitor performance, and continuously optimize IAM services for usability, risk reduction, and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on identity and access management or security-related domains
  • Deep knowledge of IAM protocols and technologies (e.g., SAML, OIDC, OAuth, MFA, SCIM, PAM, RBAC/ABAC)
  • Experience delivering IAM solutions at enterprise scale (B2C and/or B2E)
  • Strong strategic thinking, with ability to align product roadmaps to business goals and security requirements
  • Proven ability to drive initiatives in complex, regulated environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus
  • Relevant IAM certifications and/pr insurance industry experience is a plus
