Job Description

Within this program, the Principal Digital Product Manager - Robotics is accountable for ensuring Mayo pursues the right robotics opportunities for the right reasons and scales only what earns it. The opportunity space spans surgical assistance, specimen and material logistics, environmental services, pharmacy and laboratory automation, patient-facing platforms, and drones. This leader brings discipline to it: rigorous problem definition before solution work begins, evidence-based decisions about what advances, scales, or stops, and value measured in patient experience, staff time returned to care, reliability, and cost. The Principal leads the most consequential engagements personally, sets the standards other product managers work to, and mentors them. This portfolio is physical: its products are robots working among patients and staff, and success is safe, trusted, adopted operation.

Responsible for driving the vision, strategy, business requirements, roadmap, and execution across multiple assigned digital products. Advocates for the end user experience through data and research driven product discovery and development methods. Ensures alignment between Product, Business and Platform/Property priorities in context of Mayo Clinic's overall strategy and goals, while ensuring the end-user needs are met.

Oversees the entire life cycle of the assigned product, from defining and setting the vision, managing teams to hit cross-product and shared OKRs, deriving feature intention maps, and managing capacity against scope - ultimately creating a best in class user/customer experience, while on time and within budget. Sets the portfolio-wide standard for problem definition - ensuring every initiative is grounded in a clear articulation of what is being built, why it matters and how success will be measured before any solution work begins. Defines and owns cross-product OKRs across the portfolio, establishing clear targets aligned to organizational goals. Sets the standard for how OKRs are structured and measured, holding teams accountable.

Coordinates agile product methodologies across multiple product teams. Works with IT, Experience Design, Content and Digital Analytics leaders. Accountable to the success of a cross-functional team, including experts in design, engineering, marketing, and others. Recruits, hires, and mentors members of the team; establishes and standardizes product management practices, frameworks and tools across the product organization as a primary accountability alongside portfolio strategy.

Responsible for driving the product strategy, vision, design, and development execution across the portfolio. Ensures delivery of high-value products in alignment with business goals and user experience optimization. Leads high performing cross-functional teams effectively and efficiently, collaborating with business partners, customers, and other stakeholders (Engineering, UX/UI, Operations, Engagement, AI, etc.)

Leverages market and customer feedback and data to inform and guide future product and feature development. Sets discovery standards across the portfolio and leads fast-paced discovery sessions including user research, defining outcomes with baselines and opportunity areas. Leads portfolio-level prioritization and investment trade-off discussions with executive, clinical, operational, vendor and technology leadership. Advocates for end-users, and builds and improves features based on their pain points - strives to make product technology and workflows easy to use.

Proactively manages and monitors product and operational risks (regulatory, security, operational, etc.) in order to prevent and/or mitigate risks to the customer and business. Establishes deep partnerships with business stakeholders to ensure products achieve business requirements and align to other organizational strategies and priorities. Quickly build credibility and partnership with key internal partners and leaders.

Monitors and manages product schedules, scopes and budgets across the portfolio, delivering as scheduled. Manages external Mayo Clinic vendor and partnership relationships. Sets and manages product portfolio performance scorecards and shared OKRs; tracks shared KPIs across portfolio products and drives continuous improvement. Actively seeks to understand new and emerging technologies, their capabilities, pros/cons, and potential applicability to Mayo Clinic digital product needs.
