Full Job Description
Summary The Principal, Digital Transformation serves as the senior technology leader and strategic IT partner for McKesson's Ontada business. This role is responsible for shaping technology strategy, driving digital transformation initiatives, overseeing end-to-end solution delivery, and ensuring operational excellence across business-critical platforms. As a senior individual contributor, the role influences enterprise-wide outcomes through executive partnership, strategic leadership, and cross-functional collaboration without direct people management responsibilities.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary IT strategy partner to senior business leaders within Ontada.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year technology strategies, roadmaps, and investment plans aligned to business objectives
  • Provide end-to-end accountability for technology delivery across multiple initiatives, programs, and business domains
  • Drive successful execution of digital transformation initiatives that improve customer outcomes and business performance
  • Ensure operational health, scalability, reliability, security, and compliance of critical technology platforms
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex business, technology, and operational challenges
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, engineering, delivery, and operations teams to align strategic direction and execution
  • Promote adoption of modern technologies, including AI, machine learning, automation, cloud platforms, and advanced analytics
  • Influence enterprise technology direction through leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic recommendations
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and innovation initiatives that support long-term business growth and transformation goals


What You Bring
  • Extensive experience partnering with executive and senior business leaders to define and execute IT strategies
  • Proven success leading enterprise-scale digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native platforms, data and analytics, APIs, automation, and AI/ML technologies
  • Experience driving technology outcomes and influencing stakeholders without formal reporting authority
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, integration patterns, scalability, reliability, and security practices
  • Experience operating within regulated industries, with healthcare or life sciences experience considered a strong asset
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and drive alignment across complex organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, foster innovation, and deliver measurable business value.


Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required and typically requires 12+ years of relevant experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, enterprise systems, or related disciplines. Less years required if possessing relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications.


Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, automation, and emerging technologies applied to business transformation
  • Experience leading technology initiatives within regulated healthcare, life sciences, or similar highly regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and security frameworks
  • Experience supporting customer-facing digital platforms and driving technology-enabled business outcomes
  • Experience working across enterprise technology functions including architecture, engineering, operations, and product teams
  • Advanced degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred

$149,600 - $199,500
