PRINCIPLE APPLICATIONS ENGINEER
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Principal Applications Engineer is a key contributor to both product development and customer support. This role requires a strong customer-first focus, with responsibility for developing hardware and software tools that simplify product adoption, improve ease of use, and enhance the overall customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support design-win (DWIN) efforts for new products by developing application solutions.
- Develop demos and present at trade shows to expand customer engagement and strengthen industry networks.
- Support the Electrical Engineering Forum by providing solutions to complex customer application challenges.
- Create user guides, test procedures, and evaluation boards (EVBs) to support new product launches.
- Develop application notes that clearly communicate product value propositions and ease customer adoption.
- Perform competitor analysis and bench testing to compare product performance and positioning.
- Build a strong understanding of customer needs across consumer, industrial, and automotive markets to deliver effective application solutions.
- Develop application notes and reference designs to support future design-win opportunities.
SKILLS /COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Solid technical background with deep understanding of analog ICs and the challenges customers may encounter when designing them into applications.
- Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent presentation and technical writing skills
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in debugging, validating, and demonstrating solutions using standard lab equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a global and cross-functionalenvironment.
- Familiarity with Altium Designer and Oxygen, preferred
- Flexible to travel 15% of the time
