About the Job:

Brightly is seeking a proactive Principal Account Executive to drive new business through direct sales of software and services in the Education sector. We are looking for a creative and innovative individual with deep expertise in opening and growing new enterprise level accounts to create value for both the potential client and Brightly. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for technology that thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What you'll be Doing:

  • Engage in new client development activities which include cold calling, sourcing, qualifying initial clients, identifying executive decision makers, establishing contact relationships and follow-up client visits.
  • Drive Brightly's future growth by building relationships with prospective clients and turning them into satisfied clients.
  • Be an adept salesperson, capable of engaging in business-level and technical conversations at multiple levels of the organization, especially CXO level.
  • Have experience working with and closing sales in Education Mid-market and Enterprise organizations, both K-12 and Higher Education.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the buyer journey and lead a complex, multi-party sale in a highly consultative manner.
  • Build value in competitive situations and thrive on working opportunities that require strategic thinking, combined with technical knowledge.
  • Prospect intentionally within an assigned territory to maximize conversations, with the capability of independently leading a sales cycle from start to finish

What you need to have:

  • 7+ years of software sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding performance objectives (revenue targets, pipeline targets, etc.)
  • Experience with the sales process to State, Local, Education (SLED) market
  • Ability to engage clients at all levels, especially at the C-Suite and Senior Executive level.
  • Articulate, excellent presentation and communication skills as well as strong influencing and negotiation skills to drive results.
  • A proven track record of over-achieving large annual quotas
  • Consultative selling experience - Able to partner with prospects, establish trust, understand their needs and recommend solutions that add value to their business.
  • Organized and methodical; Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain executive-level client relationships in complex hierarchical corporate environments.

The pay range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 annually with a commission target of $90,000 - $110,000. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
