OverviewThe Lab is seeking a
Postdoctoral Fellow, Applied and Computational Science to conduct research and development in the areas of mathematics of generative AI models, reinforcement learning, and algorithm design. Ideal candidates will have a thorough knowledge in one or more of these areas. The ability to quickly learn new topics and dive into unfamiliar areas of research is a key ability.
This position will be able to work a hybrid schedule based at our Menlo Park, CA office.
Responsibilities- Develop research ideas, lead the experimental evaluation of these ideas, present work to government and commercial clients,
- Collaborate with project Principal Investigators (PIs) and their staff in academia, Industrial and National Labs
- Document research in technical reports and research papers
- Develop and implement new algorithms and benchmark against state-of-the-art approaches
- Some travel will be required to project meetings, and conference venues
Qualifications- Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Physics or Engineering with a focus on Computational Sciences, Computer Science or a related area.
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Expertise in algorithm development associated with the following:
- artificial intelligence
- algorithm design
- scalable computational methods and their implementations.
- Demonstrated experience implementing novel algorithms in one or more programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and libraries associated with training of AI models.
- Demonstrated publication record
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills required
The salary range is: $83,200-104,000. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
