Position Overview

As a Portfolio Analytics & Strategy Specialist within PNC's Data, Modeling & Analytics Marketing & Customer Analytics organization, you will be based in Wilmington, DE, Tysons, VA, Chicago, IL or Pittsburgh, PA.

The Senior Business Analyst – Marketing Analytics is a senior individual contributor who owns the analytical agenda for a portfolio of marketing campaigns and converts data into decision ready insights and strategic business recommendations. This role is accountable for defining how success is measured, diagnosing performance drivers, quantifying business impact, and influencing marketing and product decisions through rigorous analytics and test and learn practices.

Role Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst partners across Marketing, Product, and Data to turn marketing performance, experimentation, and complex data into clear insights and evidence based recommendations that drive business decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep analytical rigor and executive presence, distilling complex data into clear insights and evidence based recommendations with sound risk judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Campaign Performance & Impact: Own end to end campaign measurement across channels, translating performance drivers into guidance on targeting, messaging, channel mix, and investment.
• Test and Learn Leadership: Design and evaluate A/B, multivariate, and incrementality tests with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and statistically sound conclusions.
• Strategic Insights: Synthesize complex data into prioritized, actionable recommendations with clear rationale and expected business impact.
• Executive Storytelling & Partnership: Deliver executive ready insights through compelling narratives and dashboards, partnering cross functionally to drive aligned action.
• Governance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure analytics meet data governance and risk standards while continuously advancing analytical and statistical expertise.

Preferred skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, credit cards, consumer banking, or a related data-driven role.
• Proficiency in data tools (SQL, Python, or similar) with the ability to analyze and clearly present large datasets; Tableau experience is a plus.
• A strong mix of analytical skills and marketing curiosity — you love digging into data and thinking about customer behavior.
• Collaborative mindset and the confidence to contribute ideas in cross-functional settings.
• Demonstrated strength in experimental design, A/B testing, incrementality testing, and statistical analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting insights to senior leaders.
• Financial services / regulated industry experience preferred.

Job Description
  • Provides financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over the financial and regulatory reporting processes. Responsible for running complex business performance, risk and operational analytics. May include the development of analytical methods/models to assess market, credit and/or operational risk of new and existing financial products.
  • Leverages business / product expertise to rigorously analyze large datasets, improve risk adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions. Synthesizes analytical results and develops, recommends, and implements business strategies that improve lending decisions, assist in managing risk, increase revenues, reduce exposure to losses, meet business goals, and improve performance. Establishes baselines for strategies and tracks actual performance to expectations.
  • Applies predictive models, third party data, and other tools to develop and execute appropriate segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies to provide insight into portfolio risk. Manages engagements with internal and external information suppliers ensuring solution is fit for purpose while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.
  • Works with business, credit, data, and model development partners to design, develop, and monitor test designs and analytical reporting to track and enhance strategies. Designs / enhances standard reporting suites for regular product / portfolio reviews.
  • Collaborates with the line of business, Finance, and Risk partners to assess and establish credit risk appetite and to understand its implications, as well as to establish policies and procedures governing the identification, monitoring, and management of risk appetite.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $101,100.00 – $202,800.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
