PMO Scheduler
Overview
We are seeking an experienced PMO Scheduler to support a large-scale State government technology modernization initiative.
The PMO Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing the integrated master project schedule across multiple workstreams, ensuring program activities remain aligned and providing visibility into schedule performance, risks, dependencies, and critical milestones.
The ideal candidate will possess strong project scheduling expertise, experience supporting large-scale IT implementations, and the ability to coordinate schedule activities across diverse technical and business teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an integrated master project schedule spanning all program workstreams
  • Coordinate scheduling activities across design, development, testing, data conversion, training, deployment, cutover, and operational teams
  • Track dependencies, milestones, deliverables, and critical path activities throughout the program lifecycle
  • Perform schedule analysis to identify variances, risks, constraints, and potential impacts to key milestones
  • Support the PMO with schedule reporting, executive dashboards, and variance analysis
  • Work directly with workstream leads to maintain accurate and current schedule information
  • Identify scheduling risks, conflicts, and potential resource impacts
  • Support mitigation planning and schedule recovery efforts
  • Ensure consistency of scheduling standards, methodologies, and reporting practices
  • Prepare schedule updates for program leadership, governance meetings, and State stakeholders
  • Assist with release planning, testing coordination, deployment planning, and cutover scheduling activities
  • Support overall program governance through proactive schedule management and reporting
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of scheduling experience supporting large-scale IT implementation programs
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Project or comparable enterprise scheduling tools
  • Experience managing integrated schedules across multiple workstreams
  • Strong understanding of critical path analysis, schedule dependencies, and milestone management
  • Experience supporting PMO organizations and program leadership
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate scheduling activities across technical and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • State government experience
  • Public sector consulting experience
  • Healthcare, Medicaid, or Human Services program experience
  • Experience supporting major system modernization initiatives
  • Program Controls experience
  • Experience supporting Executive Steering Committees
  • Knowledge of PMO governance processes
  • Experience with large-scale testing, deployment, and cutover activities
  • PMP, PMI-SP, or related project management certifications
