Full Job Description

This is an on-site position, 4-5 days per week.

Set strategic vision for and drive successful execution of plans and tactics to achieve the vision for the Project Management function. ensure collaborative usage of appropriate Resource Management & Capacity Planning tactics to staff our software development projects within our portfolio.

Drive and facilitate all functions, standards and processes related to the Enterprise Project Portfolio Prioritization process and other Project Portfolio Management (PPM) groups Consistently apply department-mandated AI tools and practices to enhance efficiency in project delivery while complying with organizational AI governance, security, and data usage policies.

Have working knowledge of all of the projects within the portfolio with the ability to communicate status and project health to stakeholders. The ability to proactively troubleshoot with project teams and project managers to keep projects in green status or return them to green in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in MIS, Industrial Engineering or Computer Science; Master's degree preferred

  • Real, meaningful and applicable work experience with Project Management, Business Analysis and Enterprise Architecture could be accepted in lieu of specific education requirements listed above.

  • 10+ years experience

  • Expert relationship management skills

  • Proven ability to quickly assess situations, define problems, collect relevant data, draw valid conclusions and make related recommendations

  • Proven successful management experience

  • Proven ability to work in and accomplish work through others in a matrix organization

  • Exceptional group facilitation skills including ability to lead trade-off discussions prioritization, strategic alignment and resource allocation

  • Very strong communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation and listening which can be deployed successfully when addressing entry level Colleagues to management to senior executives

  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skill

  • Advanced knowledge of one or more formal Project Portfolio Management tools, e.g., Planview, Primavera, Clarity, etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of PMI (PMBOK), Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management methodology

  • Advanced knowledge in use, creation and management of formal project System Development Lifecycles

  • Advanced process modeling skills

  • Advanced process improvement skills

  • Advanced knowledge of business analysis techniques, knowledge areas and competencies including but not limited to: requirements elicitation, strategic and requirements analysis, communication, verification and validation, modeling, forecasting, mapping etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of the IIBA’s Business Analysis Body of Knowledge

  • Experience across a broad range of technologies, IT disciplines and complex systems design

  • Ability to present and explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences26. Highly skilled in MS Office Suite including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint and Teams

  • Strong understanding of process automation, robotics and artificial intelligence (AI)

  • PMI Project Management Professional and/or Agile Certified Practitioner certifications preferred but not required

  • IIBA Certified  Business Analysis Professional certification preferred but not required

  • Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred but not required

  • Insurance industry coursework or designations preferred but not required
