Skillset / Experience: Planning Manager - Job Description Position Summary: The Planning Manager is responsible for leading production planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures alignment between customer demand, production capacity, and material availability while driving on-time delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage production planning and scheduling activities to meet customer demand and delivery commitments
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts in collaboration with sales, customers, and supply chain teams
- Ensure optimal inventory levels by balancing supply, demand, and production constraints
- Coordinate closely with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure material readiness and production flow
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including material shortages and capacity constraints
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, systems, and data accuracy
- Oversee the use and optimization of ERP/MRP systems for planning and reporting
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners and analysts
- Prepare and present reports and insights to senior leadership
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or operations, preferably in electronics manufacturing
- 2-3+ years of leadership or management experience
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Proven experience in demand planning, inventory control, and production scheduling
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Preferred Skills: - Experience in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environments
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
Work Environment: - Office and manufacturing setting with frequent cross-functional interaction
- May require extended hours during peak production cycles
- Occasional travel may be required depending on business needs
