Project Overview:

Bechtel has been appointed as the Delivery Partner, supporting our customer Metrolinx as part of an integrated team, to help deliver the signature Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project, a transformational transit project for the Greater Toronto Area. The multi-billion dollar project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment. The Senior Construction Planner will be responsible for reviewing the Ontario Line Program of schedules identifying areas of the schedule that have significant contractor/third party interfaces and therefore risk areas. Working with experienced construction and testing personnel, the senior construction planners will present the program leadership team with the optimal program options to protect against schedule erosion.

Job Summary:

The Ontario Line Delivery Partner is currently seeking experienced Planner/Scheduler with experience integrating engineering, construction, and procurement schedules.

Experienced Planner/Scheduler responsible for the development, integration, maintenance, and monitoring of engineering, procurement, and construction schedules for major infrastructure projects. Supports project-wide planning and reporting activities, coordinates schedule change control governance to ensure compliance with established procedures and approval requirements, facilitates interfaces with key stakeholders, tracks critical long-lead items, and ensures alignment between work package schedules and overall project objectives. Contributes to performance measurement, progress reporting, and management reporting to support successful project delivery. #LI-ML1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, integration, maintenance, and monitoring of project-level integration activities, including engineering, procurement, construction, and interfaces.
  • Validate and consolidate schedule data from work packages, identify critical and near-critical paths, potential delays, and work with work package planners to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Perform regular schedule updates, progress measurement, and tracking of key project milestones.
  • Support schedule change control governance by coordinating revisions, ensuring adherence to established procedures, and facilitating required approvals.
  • Coordinate interface planning activities and collaborate closely with the handover team to ensure schedule updates and changes are accurately reflected.
  • Track long-lead items and maintain accurate status updates within project schedules and reporting systems.
  • Prepare and contribute to dashboards, progress summaries, performance reports, and weekly/monthly management reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior planners and project controls teams to analyze schedule performance, enhance forecasting accuracy, and support informed decision-making.
  • Maintain schedule integrity by ensuring consistency across detailed schedules, integrated reporting outputs, and project-wide data systems.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
  • Experience working with multi-contractor schedules and integrated master schedules is an asset.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency with PC operating systems and several basic software applications. Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications (Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Applications, for example).
  • Familiarity with interface management, construction sequencing, and project delivery lifecycles.
  • Working knowledge of schedule reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders at various levels.
