Make a Difference as a Physician Assistant
Proactive MD is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care at our employer-sponsored health center in Artesia, NM. Position hours~ Monday, Wednesday: 6:30a-3:30p, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:30a-6:30p, Friday Off, No weekends.

You'll work in an environment where quality patient care comes before productivity metrics.What You'll Do
As a Physician Assistant, you will:
  • Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and pediatric (2+) patients in an employer-sponsored health center.
  • Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Provide preventive care, wellness services, and health education.
  • Conduct physical examinations and comprehensive medical histories.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients.
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing.
  • Prescribe medications within the scope of your state license and applicable laws.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare resources when appropriate.
  • Build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the clinic team.
  • Support efficient clinic workflows and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.
  • Participate in patient education and health promotion initiatives.

Qualifications
Required
  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in New Mexico.
  • Minimum of 2 yearsof experience in family practice or primary care.
  • Current national Physician Assistant certification (PA-C).
  • Appropriate prescriptive authority under applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with internet, spreadsheet, and word-processing software.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Strong problem-solving and workflow-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred
  • Experience in family medicine or outpatient primary care.
  • Experience with workplace health, occupational health, or employer-sponsored health centers.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience providing patient or staff training and education.
