Full Job Description
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday. 40 hours per week, excluding lunch, during traditional business hours. No weekends required!

Location: Onsite, San Francisco (Laurel Heights area)

Salary target: $90,000/year for the first year (roughly $43.26/hour)

Right now we're looking for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our team at our San Francisco office! In this role you will work closely with our other onsite pharmacy technician to provide prescriptions to members through our Physician Dispensing Program, assist our clinical teams with pharmacy related tasks and inquiries, and manage pharmaceutical inventory.

Pharmacy technicians primarily provide assistance to clinical teams within their home office, but also work as part of a larger team. They frequently interact with their counterparts in other offices virtually, occasionally provide coverage for other offices, and support larger organization-wide efforts. The ability and desire to work in a strong team based environment is essential. This individual must possess excellent communication skills and be proactive about asking questions and seeking assistance from others. The ideal candidate thrives in environments with less rigid structure and is comfortable making independent decisions within a supportive team framework.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Prepare and label prescriptions under physician direction
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to manage and submit medication prior authorizations
  • Oversee pharmaceutical inventory: ordering, stocking, labeling, and proper disposal
  • Receive and verify medication shipments; log inventory accurately
  • Monitor and manage expired or recalled medications
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and provide excellent service to members
  • Manage data across multiple platforms, including EHR, Salesforce, inventory systems, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Undertake administrative tasks (e.g. record-keeping, rejected insurance claims, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and security protocols
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and committees related to medication management, physician dispensing, and more
  • Work closely with patient care administrators, nurses and clinical staff
  • Occasionally travel to other locations for training or support

  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a pharmacy technician

Key Skills and Attributes:
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws and medical terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially with Apple/macOS systems, and ability to learn new programs and systems quickly
  • Proactive and solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification when needed
  • Positive, professional demeanor with a collaborative spirit
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Strong desire to work as part of a team and build collaborative relationships
  • Independence and autonomy, when necessary, as well as the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately across a multidisciplinary team
  • Possesses an eye for detail that goes beyond accuracy-recognizing the subtle touches that define a premium, luxury service environment
  • Must be organized, able to multitask, and follow directions set by the manager
  • Able to lift 15-20 lbs and sit for extended periods of time

What's in it for you?

  • A competitive starting salary commensurate with experience and skills
