Full Job Description
Leads daily operations for specialty pharmacy support functions including intake, benefits investigations, prior authorization follow‑ups, financial assistance coordination, and refill/order management.
Supervises people by assigning work, coaching, approving time, documenting performance, and reinforcing unit policies and procedures.
Monitors KPIs (turnaround time, first‑pass claim rate, call handling, dispensing accuracy, shipment timeliness, inventory variances), removes blockers, and escalates exceptions or cross‑team trade‑offs per guidelines.
Coordinates workflows with pharmacists, prescribers, payers, distribution, and customer service to ensure compliant, on‑time fulfillment and cold‑chain integrity.
Implements SOPs, work instructions, and quality checks; maintains audit‑ready documentation to support accreditation, privacy, safety, and quality standards.
Improves processes and tools by capturing lessons learned, updating checklists and training aids with approval, and validating small changes using simple metrics.
Oversees specialty inventory control and reconciliation, including temperature‑sensitive and controlled items; supports cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, pharmacy operations, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
3+ years of experience in pharmacy operations or specialty pharmacy, or a related field required.
Less than 2 years of experience in a management capacity preferred.
Certification in professional project management, pharmacist or pharmacy technician registration or licensure, or equivalent preferred.
