Pharmacist

The Pharmacist keeps the patient and their wellbeing as the central focus of their professional activities. The Pharmacist is responsible for providing drug therapy review/monitoring, prescribing, preparation, counseling, dispensing and drug control in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures as well as all applicable laws and regulations. These responsibilities require excellent communication skills with patients and their families, medical staff members and department/hospital staff. The pharmacist also takes an active, participating role in the development and implementation of new programs, while supporting and facilitating the programs in place.

Qualifications

  • Maintains competency in all aspects of drug therapy including factors related to patients of all age groups including adolescents, adults and geriatrics
  • Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy
  • Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis Reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)
Required:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pharmacist or Health System Residency completed
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required (B.S. Pharm.)
  • California Board of Pharmacy - Registered Pharmacist required
  • Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire required
  • Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire required
Preferred:
  • 1-3 years of hospital experience preferred
  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm. D.)
  • ASHP accredited residency preferred
