JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Performance Test Engineer with strong expertise in performance testing, load testing, and application performance analysis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with JMeter, performance validation methodologies, and troubleshooting application bottlenecks. This role involves designing and executing performance tests, analyzing system behavior under load, identifying performance issues, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal application performance and scalability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests.
• Create and maintain automated performance test scripts using Apache JMeter.
• Analyze application performance metrics and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Validate system performance against business and technical requirements.
• Monitor application behavior under varying workload conditions and provide performance recommendations.
• Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to resolve performance-related issues.
• Analyze test results and prepare detailed performance reports and recommendations.
• Execute database performance validation and support troubleshooting activities.
• Identify opportunities for application tuning and performance optimization.
• Participate in performance testing strategy, planning, and execution activities.
• Support continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives.
• Monitor system health and application performance using available monitoring tools.
• Document testing approaches, results, findings, and improvement recommendations.
• Ensure performance testing activities align with quality standards and release objectives.
• Support production performance investigations and root cause analysis when required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Performance Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
• Experience designing and executing Load Testing, Stress Testing, Volume Testing, and Performance Testing activities.
• Understanding of application performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database performance concepts.
• Understanding of HTTP protocols, web applications, and client-server architecture.
• Experience analyzing performance test results and identifying system bottlenecks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Experience integrating performance testing into DevOps and automated deployment processes.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, or Splunk.
• Experience with application monitoring, alerting, and performance diagnostics.
• Familiarity with cloud-based application performance testing environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale web applications and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
CERTIFICATIONS
• Certified JMeter Tester or equivalent performance testing certification preferred.
• ISTQB Performance Testing Certification preferred.
• Relevant Performance Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud certifications are a plus.
