Your Role in Our Mission

We're looking for a People & Culture Business Partner who is energized by building trusted relationships with leaders and employees, staying close to the work, and helping teams navigate complex people matters with care, consistency, and sound judgment.

The People & Culture Business Partner (P&C BP) serves as a day-to-day advisor and collaborative partner to leaders across the organization, with a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, and workplace challenges. A significant part of this role is developing credibility with leaders, understanding their operational realities, and helping them work through sensitive conversations, employee concerns, and team dynamics in a way that is fair, practical, and aligned with our values.

Grounded in our Employee Promise, Invested in My Fulfillment, Committed to Our Success, this role combines consultative partnership with hands-on support for core People & Culture processes, including employee relations cases, leave and accommodation processes, policy guidance, and other work that shapes the employee experience. This role is well-suited for an experienced HR professional who values trust-building, thoughtful problem-solving, and consistent follow-through.

What You'll Do

Employee Relations & Leader Partnership
  • Serve as the primary People & Culture partner for leaders, providing day-to-day consultation on employee relations, performance management, and team dynamics
  • Lead complex employee relations matters from intake through resolution, including investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution
  • Coach leaders through sensitive conversations with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to identify patterns and recommend sustainable people solutions


HR Operations, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
  • Administer ADP-managed leave of absence programs (FMLA, LOA, state-mandated leaves), ensuring accurate, timely, and employee-centered processes
  • Manage the ADA interactive process and workplace accommodations
  • Oversee Workers' Compensation and unemployment claims, ensuring organized, compliant case management


Policy Guidance & People Insights
  • Interpret and apply People & Culture policies clearly and fairly for employees and leaders
  • Partner with the P&C team on policy updates and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Use people data, exit feedback, and trends to inform leadership insights and organizational decisions


Employee Experience
  • Champion the Employee Promise and reinforce practices that support engagement, trust, and retention
  • Balance employee advocacy with organizational alignment and business needs

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and leader partnership
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-risk, or sensitive employee relations cases independently
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Comfort operating in both hands-on administration and strategic consultation
  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and high discretion
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now experience and HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50% within the service area


Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, exempt position. The role offers a flexible work schedule, with a minimum requirement of three (3) days per week onsite. While the typical schedule occurs during standard business hours, weekly schedules may vary based on employee relations needs and operational demands and may occasionally include evenings or Saturdays. Availability during core business hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM is required.

Compensation:

$85,000 - $90,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
