Description

The Contract Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of commercial fee for service and value-based payer contracts across MaineHealth, and the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization (MHACO). This role is critical in supporting optimal reimbursement, maintaining the System's competitive position, and fostering strong relationships with payer organizations. The Contract Manager will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to support the financial and operational objectives of the System and its affiliates as it relates to Payer Relations activities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in managed care contracting, provider relations, or payer relations within a hospital system, physician organization, or health plan.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies (e.g., DRG, APC, fee-for-service, value-based care). Demonstrated experience in negotiating and managing complex payer contracts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present financial and operational data.

The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package.

The pay range for this position is $83,324.80 to $112,736.00 per year.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
