This is what you will do:
TheNF1 PNPatient Education Managers(PEMs)arean empathetic and trusted educational resource for NF1 patients and families. They areresponsible for engaging with thelocalNF1 patient community via 1:1 meetings; conducting unbranded and branded patient educationat scale throughprograms; and (in close collaboration with Alexion9s Patient Advocacy team) partnering with local and regional NF1 advocacy groups tofurtherraise awareness of NF1 burden, NF1 disease progression, and NF1 PN treatment.
In addition tothese responsibilities,PEMs alsoreferpatients and caregiverstoCase Managersfor case management support when starting on Alexion therapyandconnectthe NF1 community, as appropriate,to local advocacy networks and approved resources to best supportpatients and their families throughthetreatment journey.
You willbe responsible for:
Developing,in close partnership withAlexion Patient Advocacy andNF1 PN brand marketing,aregionalpatient engagementplanthatstrategicallysupports commercial priorities
Coordinatingfrequentlywithkey cross functional partnerstoexecute local patient outreach compliantly and effectively(e.g.: Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, PatientAdvocacy, Patient Services, etc.)
Educatingpatients andcaregiversvia 1:1meetings, including face-to-face interactions,aboutNF1 disease state,NF1 PNtreatment,andAlexion9s patient support programs
When possible, conducting impactfulin-personorvirtualeducational events on behalf of Alexionto deliver disease and product information at scale
Building a robust rare disease network of NF1 PN advocates via active participation in local advocacy eventstoidentifyeducational needs,raise disease awareness, andpromote patient empowerment
Delivering on data driven performanceobjectivesand effectivelytracking and communicatingyear-to-dateprogress tocross functional partners andAlexion leadership
You will need to have:
Minimum of 4 years business experience in the healthcareindustry
Experience engagingwithpatients and caregivers with rare/chronic conditions
Empathyfor others with proven ability to listen well, connect meaningfully,and present complex information in a clear and engaging manner during 1:1meetings
High initiative, solid work ethic,andconsistentaccountability
Ability to adaptquickly and commitment to react positivelytofrequent changein a high-energy,fast paced environment
Excellent presentation skills to diverse stakeholders in varied settings that will include groupsof 150+ people
Strong organizational capabilities that willfacilitatestrategic and efficientterritorymanagementovera largegeography
Ability to travel 60-80% oftime, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to attendin-personimpromptu trainings, educational programs, and businessmeetingsas necessary.Potential territoryto cover includes the followingstates:Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, NorthDakota,Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
BA/BSdegree is preferred,advanced degree a plus
We wouldpreferforyou to have:
At leastthreeyearsfield-based experience in account management, patient education, or sales
Experienceassistingpatients/caregivers
Background in advocacy,nursing, rare disease support, or social work
Understanding of community engagement groups and non-profit organizations
Understanding ofmanaged care and self-administered products
Familiaritywith relevant legal and regulatory components of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries;rare disease specific knowledge of these elements isa plus
Knowledge ofOncologic, Neurologic, or Rare Diseaseconditions
Bilingual, Fluent in reading and speaking Spanish
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $135,332 to $202,998. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 9at-will position9 and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
