Full Job Description
About the Role:

OLAPLEX is seeking a meticulous and tech-savvy Packaging Design Production Artist to join our Creative team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between creative design concepts and manufacturing reality. You will turn approved design concepts into flawless, technically precise, print-ready packaging files for all primary and secondary components.

Reporting to a Creative Packaging Designer, you bring an absolute obsession with technical details (dielines, typography, and print specs) and a deep appreciation for the aesthetics of prestige beauty.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Pre-Press & Production
  • Mechanical File Creation: Build and finalize precise, print-ready mechanical files for primary components (bottles, tubes) and secondary packaging (boxes, cartons)
  • Dieline Mastery: Review, apply, and adapt structural dielines, ensuring exact placement of all graphic elements, bleeds, and safe zones
  • Global Line Extensions: Adapt existing core brand designs across complex regional packaging sizes, translations, and global SKU variants
  • Typography & Layout: Maintain extreme typographic consistency, managing text wraps, kerning, ingredient list formatting, and legal requirements flawlessly

Quality Assurance & Vendor Liaison
  • File Verification: Guarantee that all files released to factories contain correct spot colors, varnish layers, font outlines, and high-resolution imagery
  • Supplier Communication: Coordinate with overseas and domestic printers and packaging engineers to resolve technical file issues and review proofs
  • Color Management: Maintain consistent brand color standards across varied packaging substrates and print processes (e.g., offset, flexography)

Asset Management & Workflow
  • Digital Archiving: Maintain highly organized project directories, standardized file-naming structures, and master digital asset libraries
  • Physical Mockups: Assemble functional physical mockups and digital renderings for leadership evaluation and stakeholder presentation
  • Timeline Execution: Manage production tasks for multiple concurrent product launches, ensuring strict adherence to global manufacturing deadlines
About You:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Print Production, or equivalent technical design experience
  • 5+ years of dedicated production art experience, ideally within the beauty, cosmetics, or premium consumer packaged goods (CPG) spaces
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, with expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Deep understanding of printing processes, specialty finishes (hot stamping, embossing), ink limitations, and substrate textures
  • Exceptional proofreading skills and an eagle-eye focus on picking up minor alignment, copy, or structural discrepancies

We'd love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement. What's most important to us is finding authentic and accountable people who feel connected to our mission and values, not just candidates who check off all the boxes. We are looking for someone who will bring all their expertise, learn, and grow with us.
Our Total Rewards:

The annual base pay for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
  • Competitive compensation
  • Work/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and flexible work schedules
  • Wellness: Company Contribution to Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance for Employees and their Families, Company Paid Employee Life Insurance, Optional additional Life Insurance, and Short and Long-Term Disability Coverage Options
  • Parental Leave: Up to 18 weeks for birthing-parents and up to 10 weeks for non-birthing new parents
  • Financial Well-being: Roth and 401k plans: 100% match up to the first 4% and is immediately vested
  • Professional Development Reimbursement Program: Career development is as important to us as we know it is to you!
  • Our culture has an "attitude of gratitude" and a shared passion for our brand. Join our Bond Builder DEI committee to play a role celebrating DEI at OLAPLEX
  • Products: Twenty (20) free products per year, plus a friends and family discount
