Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the factory leadership team

  • Oversee audit activities for internal and external standards

Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Ontario, CA location. The Role will report to the Factory Manager. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in leading teams for our 24/7, 7 days a week bottling plant. This is an exempt position with direct reports.

  • Base Salary: $132,348.70 - $161,594.40, this role is eligible for an annual bonus.
  • Location: Ontario, CA
  • Schedule: This position supports a 24/7 operation and requires flexibility to work all shifts as business needs require. While the primary schedule would be day shift, candidates must also be flexible to support other shifts as needed and work within the location's full operating hours.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the factory leadership team in a large bottling and distribution facility
  • Partner cross functionally with Planning, Quality, Transportation, Maintenance and Warehouse to maximize efficiencies and output of high-quality product in a safe manner
  • Lead the execution of cultural changes and activities needed to support the pursuit of TPM
  • Coach, mentor and develop and assess and create plans to grow the skills and competencies of frontline employees to meet current and future business requirements
  • Ensure the planned efficiency and production numbers are attained or exceeded to ensure customer demand can be fulfilled on time
  • Monitor and track planned DH (downtime) hours and partner with Quality and Maintenance to minimize DH yet maximize the strategic use of DH
  • Ensure the first pass quality goals and preventative maintenance of lines is completed to standard
  • Make certain, planned KPI's of Efficiency and Performance are met or exceeded for yourself and team members
  • Work alongside Safety, Quality and HR to ensure complete compliance with Policies, GMPs, FSMS requirements
  • Compliance with audit activities to make sure all internal and external standards are met, including ISO
  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required
  • Develop and guide direct reports in order to achieve desired results
  • Participate in projects including workforce planning, budgeting, new product launches, equipment installs or upgrades

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; masters preferred
  • 5 or more years of production experience in a team leadership capacity
  • Prior experience in the consumer products industry or food and beverage with familiarity with quality and hygiene regulation preferred
  • Knowledge and exposure to TPM, Six Sigma and various problem-solving methodologies
  • Solid understanding of production processes, preventative maintenance and budget management
  • Exceptional work ethic / dependability
  • Strong oral / written / interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Tactful interaction with peers, subordinates, vendors and customers
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, coach and develop individuals and teams
  • Problem solve creatively to lead team through improvements
  • Ability to remove team barriers to ensure achievement of all Key Performance Indicators
  • Proficient computer skills in business management software (SAP preferred), production monitoring systems (EIT preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power Point)
  • Willingness to respond to after-hour calls for critical issues and provide weekend coverage a few times/year
