Seeking qualified professionals to support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Safety (AVS) programs through environmental analysis, compliance, and mission execution activities evaluating the impacts of aviation operations and airspace changes across the National Airspace System (NAS). This role supports high-impact aviation safety initiatives, modernization efforts, and emerging technologies shaping the future of the National Airspace System (NAS).
Key Responsibilities- Analyze environmental impacts of aircraft operations and aviation activities supporting safety in the NAS
- Conduct and review environmental assessments and evaluations related to airspace changes, instrument procedures, and operational activities
- Evaluate environmental considerations associated with aviation programs, including navigation aids, obstruction evaluations, and operational approvals
- Support environmental evaluations for instrument procedures, airspace changes, or flight procedure initiatives
- Collaborate with FAA program offices, technical teams, and stakeholders to support environmental planning and decision-making
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and six years of experience performing the duties above
- Bachelor's degree may be waived with ten years of experience in performing the above duties
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (minimum 3+ years of U.S. residency) and Public Trust approval
Applicant Preferences - Applied experience in environmental analysis related to aviation operations, airspace, or infrastructure impacts
- Experience working with FAA Headquarters and supporting cross-organizational collaboration and executive-level communications
- Familiarity with environmental compliance processes, including NEPA or related assessment frameworks
- Experience evaluating environmental impacts of aviation activities and supporting environmental or regulatory documentation
